smushing around color before drawing some smush
wip included
if I know that I'm going to be using color on a face then I will let my lines be more sparse than usual
this is so the lineart is pleasant on its own (sometimed excess face lines can cause a very aged or unnatural look), and I can use the color to do the majority of the sculpting of individual face planes, such as the ones created in the cheeks. The reddish orange acts as a side plane and the purple acts as a more downward plane
these kinds of pieces are very relaxing because I can use knowledge I have of the face to support the color play, and i don't have to feel the pressure of creating realistic skin tones
