The 7th guest or 11th hour are fun to hear critiqued. Both massive multimedia "experiences" from back in the day.

2020-10-05 17:39:17 +0000 UTCThe Suffering, and old game, but i think its a good horror game, The game tells the story of Torque, a prisoner on death row for murdering his ex-wife and two children, a crime of which he claims to be innocent, saying he blacked out and cannot remember what happened. Shortly after he arrives in Abbot State Penitentiary on Carnate Island, off the coast of Maryland, an earthquake hits the island, resulting in the prison being attacked by unusual supernatural threats. After being freed, Torque attempts to fight his way to freedom while confronting his own personal demons, all while attempting to remember what really happened to his family.

2020-10-01 05:39:00 +0000 UTCI'd love to hear your thoughts on SOMA. I found it quite unsettling.
2020-10-01 05:26:35 +0000 UTCOh, SHIT, fun idea: you wanna have a retro (and I mean NES and older RETRO) episode? Like, 5 or 6 games spend ~5 minutes on each? Forbidden Forest and Beyond Forbidden Forest on the Commodore 64 would need to be absolute musts. Scared me shitless as a kid, especially Beyond because it had greater graphical (gorey) fidelity and better music. The C64's sound card was intense when a game wanted to be scarey. The fucking saw wave that thing produced damn.

2020-10-01 01:34:59 +0000 UTCYou'll likely need to emulate this one, but... Kuon. It's on the PS2. It was basically FromSoftware's answer to "What if Silent Hill but Japan" and I'm not sure many people know it even exists. Saw it on the used rack years probably looking at 13 years ago now and played through it. Not sure it is exactly all that scary, but it was freaky, with all the wonderful jank of playing a 100 pound bowling ball on stilts in PS2 era 3D adventure combat. Alternatively, for something conveniently available on Steam, Darkwood. Legitimately scary and unnerving. If you're hoping to do something other known game review/commentary channels haven't done, though, I know MandaloreGaming has a Darkwood vid. And, there's always the classic that shit countless pants the moment they opened the wrong door to the greeting of "AH, FRESH MEAT!" the grandaddy of looters, Diablo.
