My First Time Hearing... Radiohead - A Moon Shaped Pool

Wow. Honestly. I would say I have no words, but this is untrue - I have plenty, in this reaction.

I hope you enjoy it.

Comments

Jon, if you get to King of Limbs, please react to the in the basement version, it’s fckn amazing

Vince Tillyer

Me listening to ful stop at 4am like an absolute lunatic

Jasmine Mason

Sorry for blowing up your comments but you just said at 12:00 your vision was of a watery planet. I also keep seeing a watery planet. But I see the flood or younger Dryas period, more terraforming of the land after the water recedes. But I’m not sure it’s earth I just also get a water planet and sort of the destruction thereof. I don’t know what movie you brought up but I’m not surprised the song projected similar visions. Music is thoughts and thoughts arent ours. Nothing existing is new; all was at the beginning. And those vibrations and frequencies some can be projected by a conduit. May not even know they are. Glad you mentioned it.

Jasmine Mason

10:10 AND THEN THERE WERE STRINGS, and it was good.

Jasmine Mason

First he said from a jukebox that tells you to crash out basically (I think of the segregation era). And before that the 6 pence told you to crash out. The plague. burning women alive in America. It just SLAPPED the shit outta you

Jasmine Mason

Burn the witch maaaaaan that gives me VISIONS 😩😣 still a banger

Jasmine Mason

OK Computer obviously has a handful of songs everyone knows but it’s such an incredible album and worth the listen no matter what.

John Rich

Some days this is their best work. When this came I was leaving a long term relationship. This album being about that made this album make a big mark on me. It’s so sad yet so beautiful.

Robert Ljungkvist

You need to hear D'Angelo man. I've been commenting it for years and I'll continue to until you listen. You just need to hear him.

Sam

Absolute must.

Connor McCrory

Agreed, there’s so many great songs from the smile. Teleharmonic, read the room, and bending hectic are incredible

John Rich

so excited for this! if you’re not a fan of them already, it would be amazing to see you listen to some LCD Soundsystem one day. their music is so much fun and really interesting and danceable and I think you’d love it! Sound of Silver would be the perfect place to start. anyways have a great day Jon thanks for another great video!

Jon, please please please listen to the Thom and Jonny (Radiohead) latest project, 'THE SMILE'. Born out of Covid lockdowns, it is the freshest Radiohead-adjacent sounds you can hear until Radiohead release a new album. Start with 'A Light for Attracting Attention'.......it will give you a Radiohead high foe sure. Then followup with 'Wall of Eyes'. Trust me mate, you will not regret it

Benjamin Farrell

I recommend Ransom a Dave east new collab album it’s so good, and to anybody who hasn’t heard it go check it out

Squish Wright

I love the musical influences that come through on this one. Krautrock/motorik, bossa-nova, gospel, choral music, drone, folk and modern classical music all get pulled into the sound radiohead had developed in far more detail than before. A gorgeous album.

Varre de Villiers

There’s a really great song Benjamin Earl Turner just put out called bent that actually samples glass eyes. Features Saba on it, it’s really dope.

John Rich

That dude and his band famously love Israel lol

K

Literally how is he racist

Ocxlus

With the discussion around gentle albums that take you through complex emotions, I strongly recommend listening to Sufjan Stevens Carrie and Lowell! Elliott Smith vibes but more ethereal, hushed, gentle, soft

Almag

So happy that you loved this record. Radiohead’s softest and most delicate album. ‘Present Tense’ is still my favourite song of all time.

Decomp

It's hard for people to rate this one higher than their all time favorites from them because it's so recent, and their past work is so great, but it might be their best album.

Andrew Brunton

Jonny really flexed his orchestral muscles on this one

Benjamin Farrell

F*ck thom Yorkes racist ass

K

oh hell yeah, the most underrated Radiohead record
