2023-07-27 16:43:38 +0000 UTCI've loved the Nas and Hitboy collabs, after 3 listens through this is probably the second worst to me, with only the first KD being worse, but I still enjoyed this. I've really loved this run of albums and Nas putting out 6 albums of this quality within 4 years is really phenomenal, I don't think there's any legend with this quality or quantity after such a long career

There are nas fans that are really Illmatic fans and have been crying for him to work with producers like premier, pete rock, q-tip etc. They all think they know better or what is best for nas and do not let him grow or evolve. This album has been polarizing. They want nas to stop working with Hitboy. Which is outrageous since he has been the inspiration for this run. Their chemistry is undeniable and he has supported Nas unconditionally. Many still refuse to accept Hitboy.

It’s an honest take and was a really interesting listen for an american like me who loves y’all’s drill music but i’m from US so i don’t know about police taking down a boatload of 1011 songs back in the day, labels, thoughts behind shortening tracks, how to keep longevity, Dannys feeling on working a lot more with the US artists, who is buying views now on YouTube in the UK and why, etc.
