Yeah where is Big Weenie? :(

Matt Skinner

I really like the deluxe tracks on this, especially We As Americans. No idea how they didn't make the album

Dan Brooks

Where is Big Weenie

JakeMG

Love the reactions but you are for sure mistaken about this being the start of his downfall. Even hardcore Em fans admit this was a career low point for him and he's had ups and downs since but it's never gotten this bad again. I am glad you are going to check out the rest of his albums because you'll get to see that although he might have never quite reached the heights of MMLP and Eminem Show again, he still has greatness in him and he displays it on songs like Headlights, Bad Guy, Arose, Darkness just to name a selectt few.

Kieran Wilton

Please do the Refill version of Relapse Jon! It’s great.

S. Paulsen

Yeah, as others have said, this album suffered badly from leaks beforehand. I guess he felt the need to remove the leaked stuff and replace them and so some of the garbage you hear in the middle of this release are the result of that. Clearly he was not in the right headspace to record songs to release to the world but that is the decision he made and he has to own it. The bonus tracks are some the leaked tracks. Maybe one or two more off his Straight From The Lab mixtape. Interestingly though, he himself defends this album and he has said on record that the next album, Relapse, is worse than this. But you will find a majority of his fanbase think Relapse is one of his best works, myself included. It's a concept album and considering he doesn't have much to talk about anymore, it's an avenue I think he should consider again. Use that storytelling ability and create something to tell. I love him to death but I'm fed up hearing fast rap and crazy rhymes. Like dude, we get it, you're a great rapper. Now go be a great artist again. I won't hold my breath. Jon, always enjoy your opinions on Eminem no matter how negative. You're a great neutral on him. Plenty of "reactors" out there ride his dick for views (not naming names but if you know you know)

Lyrad

Just realized that you didn't include Big Weenie in this lol

Rudra

The hook, beat, production and verses are 10/10 on puke imo. The definition of a 10/10 song. Just lose it is similar to TRSS, without me and my name is.

Finicher

Puke I can just about tolerate. But Just Lose It is annoying af with dumb lyrics and an irritating hook.

Martin Holmes

I don’t understand the dislike for just lose it or puke at all. Great songs imo.

Finicher

If Em just had the foresight to remove My 1st Single, Rain Man, Big Weenie, Just Lose It, Ass Like That, I think Encore would be remembered much more fondly. It'll be interesting to hear your thoughts on Relapse. I think it's probably his last great album, at least in terms of production and rhyme schemes, as long as you treat it as a Slim Shady horrocore album. But there are still some issues with that album too (weird accents, nonsensical lyrics in places).

Martin Holmes

Relapse is a lowkey masterpiece imo and a return to form for Em in terms of originality and creativity. The controversy comes from the conceptual approach that he chose for the album lol, so it'll be that aspect that will either elevate or hurt your enjoyment of it haha I do hope you listen to the Refill version of Relapse! Which has a lot of additional tracks and is almost like MTBMB Side B in terms of how many extra (and some of them seriously great) tracks there are. The full length gets bumped up to almost two hours though, so we'll understand if you decide to just stick to Relapse Lastly, I suggest listening to the tracks When I'm Gone and No Apologies. They are imo the two most important tracks during Em's 2004-2009 hiatus, and can serve as a short bridge between Encore and Relapse to see where his mind was at at the time. You won't regret listening to them and to this day they remain top tier tracks even among the most dejected Em listeners, as they are proof that even after Encore, Em still has that top level introspective skill in him somewhere But again I'll understand if you skip those tracks as they are not a part of any solo studio album. Hope you enjoy the horrorcore album Relapse! It's one of Tyler The Creator's inspirations and for good reason

John TQ

If you treat Relapse as a horrorcore concept album it is really impressive but otherwise you’ll be plenty surprised

igor fras

Em does pick it up after this relapse, recovery and MMLP2 are all solid and much better than this project, the big downfall hits at revival

Amazing reaction I loved watching you experience the fast decline in the album quality. I could see the pain in your eyes. Just lose it Jon AHAHBAANBAHAHABAHAVA This is a bad album but it’s a hilariously bad album. The beginning of this album is so strong its comical how right after mosh most of the rest of the album is some of the worst music he’s ever released. Probably his worst but I’d still give it like a 4 because it has some amazing tracks but those are drowned out by the bad ones. Can’t wait for relapse. I’m curious what camp you fall into. The “it’s good” or the “worst thing I’ve ever heard”

RINGER 13

Mockingbird is definitely one of his greatest songs, his verses sound so conversational while flowing perfectly

Rudra

I hope you listen to the bonus songs from this album in another video. We As Americans, Love You More, and Ricky Ticky Toc would all be interesting reactions. I don't think it really makes sense to compare the rapping in the middle portion of this album to his recent music. I think the first side of Music To Be Murdered By was a phenomenal album, and I think his technical ability was taking a bit of a downturn during this time with his addiction issues increasing. I think after the Eminem Show, the only really good albums he has are Recovery and Music To Be Murdered By, but on every single album he makes he has moments of greatness and beautifully personal storytelling.

Rudra

Relapse is his 3rd best imo incredible work idk how he’ll feel about it tho very interested in that reaction

Jake

Straight from the lab EP so good!! Thank you for telling the whole story I was going to but yeah this would be on the level of his best work if that didn’t leak it’s a shame but also those bad tracks make for interesting insight now given we saw him almost die of drug addiction, I’ve always found that 2004-2008 era of em very interesting we have stuff like King Mathers leaks and Pistol Poppin verse and it’s just crazy seeing the disparity in quality between something like The Apple or the most emotional song I’ve ever heard in Difficult and then awful verses like Peep Show and Wee Wee

Jake

Another amazing reaction I’m loving these!! when you’re going through his discog can you please do Bad Meets Evil (his collab project with Royce) from 2011? It’s under the group name but em is a big part of every track and some of his best work post-addiction

Jake

Yeah, you should definitely hear those leaked songs and see what this album could’ve been if em wasn’t drugged out of his mind

Ethan Scott coleman

You’ll actually see that other than Revival, there’s no real “downfall” per say. I mean yeah nothing tops those first 3 but albums like Relapse MMLP2 and Recovery are good albums. MMLP2 and Relapse specially.

Diego Guevara

Eminem made the entire album and 4 songs leaked (the bonus songs on Encore) and he had to go into the studio and make 4 new songs to replace the 4 that leaked. He wrote and recorded them all in within a couple days in Orlando with Dre while drugged up. That’s where songs like “Rain Man” “My First Single” “Puke” and “Ass Like That” came from. He talks about this in his new XXL magazine interview. It’s actually sad because this album would’ve been so much better. The bonus tracks are pretty good.

caleb

Watching you react to this was very entertaining. Personally can't wait for you to get to MMLP2, one of his best imo.
