totally agree, although Beerbongs certainly sounds a lot more coherant, I think it sounds like an album rather than a playlist like you said. Although that album means a lot to me and was there in an important part of my life so I guess I'm a little blinded.

the reason the album sounds held back is because it is. they’re making him produce generic music. you can tell which songs are his and which are the labels

Post Malone's albums have been getting fucked over by the lable every time. All the label wants is basic pop radio music, for ex: 'I Like You', 'Wrapped Around Your Finger', 'I Cannot Be' even 'One Right Now' with THE WEEKND...smh. Im not saying those songs are bad but they all feel and sound so particularly made for commercial and radio success it's almost cringy, and I hate that word. On the other side, songs like 'Reputation', 'L/H Letter to Alcohol', 'Euthanasia', 'Waiting For A Miracle' or even turn up songs like 'Cooped Up' and 'Insane' they feel natural, they feel real, like it's music POST MALONE wants to make, not the label that's just chasing numbers. This is why pretty much all of Posty's albums have been all over the place, the label wants Post to make music that he doesn't actually want to make but since they have a contract they have to compromise to a certain level, which then leads to his albums sounding like a Playlist rather than an Album. It's a real shame because Post is capable of making seriously good music, both serious, meaningful and powerful music but also hype, turn up, happy music. I've heard that this is the last album under this label so hopefully he now will move on to either being independent or sign to a label that will let him have at least majority creative control. Im already predicting that Post Malone's NEXT album will be his best piece of work. Love the dude and I hope he's doing good :)

Feels like he wanted to make a more personal album, but his label was like nah we need radio hits 😅 really enjoyed the fleet foxes song
