Cause obviously on face value it can be read as this heated dialogue between a man and a woman but I think it can also be read as an internal conflict between Kendricks masculinity and feminity. It feels like an even more complex sequel to 'u' in a lot of ways which is, to this day, one of my favorite Kendrick songs.
