Commission sketches

The first part of the commission process with me is the creation of usually three to five 'thumbnail' sketches; these are very rough, loose sketches intended purely to get different poses and angles portrayed for the commissioner's idea. Head angles, arm placement and expressions are all able to be changed and I encourage input from the client at this stage! This piece had a pretty free reign theme of sexy badass biker babe. :) Once the commissioner picks their favourite we work on refining it. During refinement I usually offer a couple of different facial expressions to pick between and from there it's ink time. ♥ The discarded thumbnail sketches are either trashed or - if not too similar to the finished product - may be recycled at a later date.
With any luck I'll have the flat colour version of this one done soon!
