*ARMY GOLD* - NVN #24 - “Trivia 轉: Seesaw”

ARMY GOLD, it’s Day #24…

This is a song that will linger in our hearts, minds, and souls FOREVER 💔

We definitely weren’t prepared for a free session of relationship therapy today, but Suga delivered exactly that.

Suga’s use of the seesaw metaphor to illustrate how staying in an unbalanced relationship can feel like a never-ending cycle of tension and resolution, where neither person truly benefits, is GENIUS!!!! This song is deeply introspective and liberating…we felt it in our cores.

ARMY, if this song resonated with you, we’d love to hear your own experiences with the “seesaw” of relationships. Feel free to share your thoughts or stories with us—we’re all ears! 💜💜

🚨 ROLL CALL / CHECK IN INSTRUCTIONS 🚨

We truly appreciate your love and support. Your ARMY GOLD subscription allows us to produce higher-quality reaction videos, and moves us closer to our goal of doing this full-time! Let us know if you have any questions, feedback, thoughts, etc. at any time!!

Wow, I can’t believe I’m late to Seesaw. One of my favorite BTS songs. It’s so close to my heart. This song made my divorce make sense, it gave me clarity and closure. I’m forever thankful to my bias.

Omg, Carmen checking in! So happy you guys pronounced my last name right (people always get it wrong for whatever reason lol). So sorry it took my this long to check in but I was having some bouts of CyberSickness so I wasn't a lot to watch. I had been taking a break from screen in-between work so I'm so sorry, but I'm doing much better now. I recently finished you guy's reaction to JJK 2 and can't wait for season 3 to hit the screens. Love what you guys do and I will forever be greatful for you guys bringing even more BTS joy into my life when I'm down. 💜💜💜

I’m behind but I want to scream into the void about what a Seesaw enthusiast I am, it is one of my most played tracks over the years

You both briefly talked about whether it's possible to have a reasonably balanced seesaw and as a hopeful romantic, for romantic relationships, I'm going to say I hope so. The division of labor (physical, emotional, mental) in a relationship may not always be 50-50 but I think what matters is finding someone with whom the slight difference in that, works. Some days it may be 40-60, or 70-30, or 30-70. All this, while still keeping our boundaries of course. And maybe... maybe... a healthy balanced relationship is less like a seesaw game and more like sitting side by side with that person on a train, going to the same destination with shared values :)

Wow, I love this song so much. I truly first got into BTS in March 2021 (just a few days after Yoongi's birthday actually, and my first official comeback was Film Out). I had gone through a breakup a few months before that, was feeling burnt out which was exacerbated due to the pandemic, and was just not feeling fully myself. That breakup had been mostly mutual, so I didn't relate this song to that, but my first breakup, 2 years before, had been intense and emotionally draining. I felt so seen and empowered because of Seesaw's lyrics. It helped me make peace with some lingering emotions about the whole thing. I've just had such a soft spot for this song, the moment I discovered it, it went straight up to my top 10 songs of all time on spotify, and that top 10 list keeps changing (mostly BTS 🥰) but this song has remained a constant in it, ever since. Even if I separate it from my own personal connection to it, I loveeeee and appreciate Yoongi's lyricism so much, and how he used a seesaw to describe an unbalanced relationship (platonic/romantic/etc). I think a lot of people feel seen by these lyrics. I'm in awe of how he is able to put it into words - and they're not complicated words either, it's rather simple. But sometimes, simple is best, and it takes a lot of skill to be able to make it look simple but resonate so universally across different ages and genders and cultures. Edit: RM said what I meant when I said "the lyrics are quite simple"! I love the relatively simple lyrics, they are very impactful.

The DJ on stage was El Capitxn, Jang Yijeong, he was on Suchwita and is a good friend of Yoongi. Adora was at the final concerts too though and sang live backing vocals. She isn't with BigHit anymore and started her own solo career a few years ago, but still has a good working relationship with Yoongi/BTS as it seems since she comes back for backing vocals, harmonies, or for those live concerts.
