(You can also watch HERE)

(Password: MUSE!!)

We finally got the chance to loop back around and check out the MV Shoot Sketch for J-Hope and J. Cole's collaboration 'on the street' that was released earlier this year. The respect and homage that J-Hope paid to his "muse" was absolutely astonishing. ARMY, we are still trying to ''COPE" with the fact that this collaboration actually came to fruition. We hope you enjoy today's video, and be sure to watch until the very end for a little extra digging!

Also, you can head over to the ARMY GOLD Tier to watch our reaction to J-Hope moving his body in ways no human should be able to move their body!

As always, we truly appreciate your love and support (WE’LL CONTINUE SAYING THIS UNTIL THE END OF TIME). Your subscription allows us to produce higher-quality reaction videos, and moves us closer to our goal of doing this full-time! Let us know if you have any questions, feedback, thoughts, etc. at any time! BORAHAE!! 💜💜

We Dug Deep!! REACTION to J-Hope 'on the street (with J. Cole)' MV Shoot Sketch

I liked the random fire truck info, I've wondered about that before too so thank you! 😁

j-hope is really the concept King. His lyrics can be hard to translate because they're written pretty abstractly but if you can find a good breakdown, you can see all the ways they come full circle. Everything in that MV was intentional. j-hope doesn't just tell stories, he weaves webs. He does like that dream building in Inception. He's playing three-dimensional chess. If we're looking at something from two angles, he said just wait until you see angles three, four, and five. He buries clues in the location, in the lyrics (three levels deep), in the delivery of his bars, even in the production. Whenever he drops something, I have to sit with it for weeks and I'm always just blown away by the way the big picture unfolds. His brain is just so creative and detail-oriented and he's a man who has the ability to see so clearly both the forest and the trees. It's part of what makes him such an exciting, one-of-a-kind artist.

It's okay you didn't get the song or its symbolism back in March. Timing seems to be a big thing with BTS; it'll get you eventually, when the time is right for you. And that time was now for you guys. Honestly its one of BTS's most impressive magic tricks: you can listen to a song of theirs 50 times and then out of nowhere, on the 51st listen it HITS YOU differently, suddenly everything makes sense, and you can never listen to it passively again. I used to have a favourite's playlist for BTS music, seperate to my playlist of all their music, because there were songs that just hit more for me. But I've noticed over the years pretty much all the songs have crept over, even the ones I was like: 'eh, this isn't one of my favourites' have grown with time on me that I get excited when any of them come on! (That favourites playlist is now over 20 hours long haha)

Okaaaaaay, so you told us to let you know when you missed things and didn’t do proper justice to certain tracks. 1:14:54 I couldn’t stay silent😂 So Jared, Army, and I thought that Seven by Jungkook was just a simple love song for your lover with the F word in it (1:01:20) but there is a storytelling and message in it. when JK interviewed with Z100 he said about the MV “ I hope my fans can think of it as something that stays with them when having a hard time” https://twitter.com/jjklve/status/1682038122014736388?s=46&t=fa-ytobQC9l3z6C9Jlefig To be honest I didn’t understand what he meant by getting energy from the MV or staying with us when having a hard time. And a lot of Army thought this MV was about toxic relationship and JK being a stalker!!! So I watched a lot of reactions and explanations videos to the MV, wanted to know their thoughts about it but all of them were talking about the F word or the toxic relationship 🫠 this is the only explanation that made me understand what he meant. https://youtube.com/watch?v=kdGQvny_SLE&feature=sharea P.S. Play the video at 0.75x speed because they speak too fast. 😅 And as always thank you for your reaction videos.

I loveeee the deep dive!!! Thanks to you guys, I was actually able to go to Cortlandt alley, while I was in New York for D-Day!! 🤩🤩 It was on the last day of our trip, we had saved China town for last to have lunch and do some last minute shopping before our plane back home. I was scrolling through twitter on the subway and saw that some armys had gone to Cortlandt alley to take pictures, so I googled the location out of curiosity. It turns out it was a 3 MINUTE WALK from where we were getting off in China town 😭🤯🤯!!!!! Yall should’ve seen the way I gasped when I googled it hahah. Alex and Dereck had no choice but to get dragged into my shenanigans once again LOL😂😂 I’m so glad I googled it when I did! Smth told me to just do it and it worked out beautifully! I took some pictures and tried filming some videos too, but it was pretty rainy that day so they’re not great. It felt surreal being there. Once again I’m so grateful for that opportunity guys 💜💜💜💜

Steph

I am soo glad you guys did a deep dive on this. I loved your reactions... I even learned something new!! Such an Iconic Collaboration 👏🏽💜💜💜💜💜🫶🏾

This project will go down in history. So iconic 🙌🏽💜

I really think this point that Jared brought up about other artists not REALLY knowing who BTS are, not even just as artists but as people. You are right Chris Martin knows. Those other artists you mentioned, I agree you can really see it in their faces that they know who they are standing next to. I don't know J. Cole too much (sorry) but just from what I've seen from him via this collab, and the respect I know he has from you two and his peers, I feel like he didn't just agree to this collab without actually learning a little more about J-hope than just that he's part of the global sensation BTS. At the same time, I think meeting someone you looked up to as a teen is far more meaningful or exciting than just meeting another artist whom you may actually respect and think is wonderful too. And honestly J. Cole doesn't come across to me as the kinda guy that expresses his excitement like J-Hope. But I 1000% agree with you about many other artists. In fact, in the Beyond the Story book, RM talks about the 3 different kinds of artists that they meet and then he specifically says that Chris Martin is none of them, so even to BTS Chris was someone different for them to meet. It would be nice if other artists who may even want to collab with a member of BTS or BTS themselves would learn a little more about them, just so they have the proper respect that BTS deserves. Some people sadly want to collab because they know it means a successful song. I do think though that after working with them, they are so impressive that they leave a lasting impression regardless of what you thought going into the project. Or at least that's what I always read from people who have collab'd with them. One thing that makes me so excited for BTS and their chapter 2 adventures was seeing them work with artists that they admired, such as Jimin with Taeyang and their "Vibe" collaboration. Jimin looked up to him when he was younger and he was so excited to work with him. I know that RM also got to work with artists that he admired. They are so deserving of these moments. Thank you for continuing after you ended the video. I had not seen all of that extra information. I did see that some ARMY believe that since "On the Street" and "The Astronaut" are both songs they released before enlisting and does have theme's seemingly relating to ARMY and trying to reassure us of their love and their return, that the two children used in the videos represent ARMY - and they are both around the age of 9-10 or that's what it seems which is actually the same age as ARMY. Who knows what theories & symbolisms are actually intentional. I've seen very different theories relating to "Spring Day" and both make complete sense. It's so fun to hear/see all of the ideas that ARMY comes up with and these were no different. As always. Thanks guys. Borahae 💜💜💜

Hello gentlemen. Another good reaction. So glad you did a much deeper dive on the song.

Rheichel Tormis

To as wet your question at the end; yes I have someone in my life for whom I’m a muse and who puts me first and that’s my partner, and it feels lovely after years single mama grave, king around the world with my sons and not thinking about myself as a priority nor having anyone reflecting my divinity back to me, as I try to do with others. So this is a very beautiful moment in my life and I’m cherishing it as much as possible!

Aylaᴿᵖʷᵖ

Jared, I think if Hybe was to answer your question as to how much it would cost to empty out a subway for a BTS mv, they'd say "chump change" 😆😆 I love this behind the scenes cuz seeing Hobi this happy makes my heart smile. I will admit, I really didn't know how big J Cole was until J hope made this song. My rap experience pretty much ended in 2004 right before I started having my kids. You asked how does BTS get this deep with their concepts and lyrics, I think it's because of their passion for making an imprint in this world. As for Seven seeming a bit shallow, don't forget it wasn't written by JK so I kinda gotta agree with you Jared. It's a fun song tho and I'm not mad at it lol

That Grand Central Station performance and making of MV is epic!

Cheryl ⁷ Lambert

Jared, I think you hit the nail on the head. Unless a feature or collab artist has done a ton of research about BTS, there is no way they "get it" when it comes to the respect they deserve. Not saying this about J. Cole , but I am sure some artists are told "BTS is very popular and a collab with them could be beneficial to you".....Snoop admitted as much before "Bad Decisions" ...not that Snoop (or J. Cole) needed someone to boost their career, but Snoop really didn't know them. I think a collab is beneficial always to both artists for each other's fandoms to explore music they might not already know. I saw a whole lot of J Cole fans suddenly start reacting to BTS after this collab. It takes a deep dive into BTS to have the appreciation that we have for BTS. "How do they empty out a subway". over 3 years ago they emptied out Grand Central Station to shoot ON for Jimmy Fallon.

Laurie Brennan⁷

I was so happy to see the continuation of the video and the deeper dive you took into the whole meaning and concept behind the song, the MV and Hobi’s utter respect and love for J Cole. I think the only thing you didn’t touch on is that the child is wearing the same green jacket as J Cole. I was so depressed and sad after On The Street came out. I loved everything about it, the concept, the look, the music, the lyrics, the atmosphere, all of it. I guess it’s partly coming from a very large city such as Toronto but also because of Hobi’s sheer joy at working with J Cole and knowing that his enlistment was eminent and this was his love for ARMY song while he is away. Soooooo many people hopped on Youtube because there was a new “J Cole” song. It was infuriating, sad and painful to see so many people disparage Hobi from his verse, to his music and even accusing him of ripping off Hip Hop culture from his attire, wearing the Avirex jacket. They had no idea the depth of homage that Hobi was paying to J Cole and they had no interest either. Very few chose to even bother to find out who Hobi was. Seeing Hobi dancing underground, even covering his beautiful face while being lost in the music didn’t resonate with so many people. I love J Cole on this song, his verse is so deep and meaningful. I even looked up the song Simba when I read about the location of the MV. I’ve come to appreciate J Cole’s work through BTS and both of you. I felt your initial disappointment with the song because you were expecting a hard rap with a heavy beat and it wasn’t that. I’m glad that you’ve come back to not only liking the song but really understanding how much meaning and thought was put into it. Did Hobi get the recognition he deserved from this, it doesn’t matter. It was his dream come true and ARMYS love it and him. It kills me that our “piece of peace” is in the military as is Jin and so will the rest of them. I respect them so very much for doing what they feel is the right decision for them at this time. I can’t wait until they return in 2025 as I’m loving Chapter 2. Love you both so much for this. 😢🫰🏻💜🫰🏻💜🥰🥰🇨🇦

Guys - if this blew your mind just wait until you get to the Most Beautiful Moment in Life. You are going to see a lot of Lumpens work. The depth of talent between BTS and Lumpens is magical! Thanks for back tracking and doing this reaction. And I always wonder if J. Cole ever received a handwritten letter from any other artist he's ever worked with? That must have been special for him.

Kecia ⁷

I agree with everything you said Kathy. It’s just sad that after 10 years not a lot has changed as far as recognition and respect from other artists and people in the industry. What frustrates me even more is that now they are under the same umbrella as some of these very same artists. 🫰🏻💜

Cheryl ⁷ Lambert

You are probably right about the subway. Here in Toronto, there is an unused subway platform that runs parallel to a downtown subway station that is often used for training purposes as well as movies, TV and other projects. It’s always recognizable when it pops up in something. 😁💜🇨🇦

Cheryl ⁷ Lambert

You guys made so many amazing points in this video. I love what Jared said about wanting to whisper "do you know who J-Hope is?" The truth is the majority of western artists who meet them don't really know. You can see a huge difference between Korean artists meeting BTS and western ones. Despite all of their incredible success it's almost like BTS are still not really main stream. I find it so strange that I meet people all the time, who have never heard of them. Even my elderly grandparents would know names like Taylor Swift or Harry Styles, but BTS? No chance. There is still a wall up and it's so disappointing. There are many clips of artists meeting BTS and being shocked and confused at Army screaming for them, or being like "wow you guys are really popular?" I also love that you compared the guy breaking down over meeting his favourite artist to how Armys would feel meeting BTS. It made me think of the same thing. If I met them I don't think I'd be able to handle it at all! Just tears probably but who knows! Army is belittled constantly in the media and by the general public for the way we react to seeing them. We're portrayed as a group of mindless, hormonal, screaming, teenage girls and I think that blocks a lot of people from being curious about the thing we are screaming for. In the past week I've had someone I know tell me BTS's music is "manufactured." I said "have you made that assumption because they are a boyband?" and he said "yes." They also assumed I was only interested because I am attracted to them- reducing it to shallow reasons. I also had someone roll their eyes and laugh at me when I told them a video of JK made me emotional. People just don't get it and they don't even want to, because the portrayal of BTS and Army in the west is shrouded in xenophobia, sexism, misogyny and racism and so they are never exposed to some of the best art being created in the world. It's very sad. Thank you for always putting Armys feelings into words. I love seeing both of you get more and more Army with every video! Borahae!

as a huge ass cole fan. this FEED ME. and why am I JUST NOW LISTENING TO SIMBA WHEN I KNEW- ima finna go on a crazy cole deep dive. don’t save me.

I wanted them to watch it as I wasn't expecting this video but im still glad they did this one too. :)

i think the movie industry in the US has specific locations they can film maybe this was a old subway station with a working train i have seen that so many times in movies and tv series. but the street idk about that. all i know is that i didn´t see army post on twitter before the mv came out, that they saw J-hope. even if you are not a fan, the word of BTS makes people tweet about it. but in Jin´s mv the astronaut the background was extras but here we didn´t se that. but for people walking by a camera crew and not look back seems strange to me. lol i wrote this before watching the rest of the video where you found out. i didn´t knew that so that was new. BTS and their label always work hard on their MV´s symbolism and photoshoots. it´s why army became detectives. when you reach the beautiful moment in life album and all the albums after that you will get hit with a LOT of informations on the BU witch is a whole other separate storyline. Lucky for you, i think the BTS tv serie based on the BU will be released by then so you can watch that. the amount of content you still have a head of you is extreme i dont think you will be done by 2025, because remember they still release new content everyday.

You should check j-Cole’s post about on the streets on Instagram 😅 it’s very subtle yet wholesome 💜

Guys the new Suchwita ep with JK is out! When you react to that, make sure to watch the “Jungkook Noraebang clip” too. It’s Jk still on the Suchwita set. CANT WAIT FOR U ALL TO WATCH IT

Hey guysss! What stuck out to me is what Jared said an you did agree as well Jordan was about the way other artists treat them. I had to stop the video an respond to this. I have to be honest I do not like how they treat them. It's not all artists but most of them. They always seem to come off arrogant or hold a superior demeanor in front of BTS. I don't know why like they don't treat them as artists an it feels just my opinion ingenuine at times. BTS choose to be fanboys to the artists they love an grew up with an are not ashamed to act that way or resemble humility an gratitude. Their music shows that. Their attitude shows that. They could just have started as a hip hop group, hold entitlement to hip hop an basically copy the art but instead they appreciate the ones that started hip hop an always give credit to them. Hip hop is global. Jhope name literally came from J Cole an if that don't show a sign of appreciation then idk what. They respected hip hop artists on multiple occasions, went out their way to show love to them, an just like Jared said you can't give them an hour of your time? It's a little discouraging an unsettling how the other artists act towards them. Because to me it comes with the ultimate question, do you want to get to know BTS? People wonder why BTS are where they are an all people have to do is compare how BTS are to how the other artists are. Humility. Real. Flawed. Talented. Dedicated. Unique. Devoted an Love to their fans. There you go that sums it up. But these are not all artists though just mentioning many other artists. When things like this happen, I always say this is why I left the music of the western world an decided to broaden my choice of music. Its lost its muse an passion ages ago. There are still great talented artists that i respect but no artist made me feel at home like BTS. I'm glad BTS still hold their realness for this long because that's hard especially based on their status. Boraehae Army an this was also no shade just my opinion. We have amazing artists that love BTS dearly an truly like Coldplay, Halsey, Max, Lauv, Paak, Becky G, Pharrell an Steve Aoki an I love some of these artists music till this day.

Peach⁷

I’m so happy you got to experience this. I felt that it would really warm your hearts to know just how much this collaboration meant to Hobi to be able to meet and work with someone that he respects so much. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on this. 😁

Cheryl ⁷ Lambert

Yassss FINALLY!! Been waiting for thissss!! I’m happy you came back to it and I KNOW y’all gonna appreciate this collab SO MUCH MOREE!
