🟠🟣Koharu&Minato Rough Drafts for Comic Cover 1

FANBOX を開設してから今年で早３年目となりました！

これまで色々ありましたが、現在まで更新を継続してこられたのは、

日々私たちを支援してくださっている皆様のおかげです。

いつも「小春と湊」を応援してくださって、本当にありがとうございます！

This year marks the 3rd year since we opened FANBOX!

We have been through a lot throughout the years, but we were able to keep updating

FANBOX contents all because of you.

Thank you, thank you so much to all of you for your continuous support to “Koharu and

Minato”!

そして最近バタバタな日々が続いており、更新が遅れがちになってしまい申し訳ありません

…！

現在も、百合姫の次のエピソードの執筆に多くの時間を割いており、FANBOX 掲載の漫画

に取れる時間がなかなか取れないのが現状です

百合姫掲載の「小春と湊」に関しまして、今後改めて良いお知らせが出来ると思いますので

いましばしお待ちいただけますと幸いです！

We have been extra busy these days, and we must apologize for delaying the weekly

FANBOX updates repeatedly. We’re sorry! We’ve been devoting a great amount of time for updating episodes on Yurihime.

Because of this, we had to sacrifice the time to work on FANBOX manga recently.

We should be able to bring good news to you all soon regarding “Koharu and Minato” on

Yurihime! We are very excited to make this announcement in the future.

「小春と湊 わたしのパートナーは女の子①」の表紙のボツ案

を掲載いたします！

たくさんあるので、よかったら見てくださると嬉しいです！

Sorry again to those who were waiting for new episodes on FANBOX, but today we’d like to

post something special: rejected rough drafts for the front cover artwork of “Koharu and

Minato Vol.1”!

We brought lots of idea sketches from behind the scenes. We hope you enjoy!

My Partner’s a Girl, Just Like Me

案①

なんとなく日常の 1 コマを切り取った感じにしたかったので、あえて余白を残したデザイン

にしてみました。没になりました。

Draft 1

I wanted to depict an ordinary moment from our everyday life, which made me leave some

blank space around the girls. Rejected.

案②

担当さんから「キャラクター性が分かる方がいい」とアドバイスいただいたので、対比にな

るような構図にしてみました。(テキパキ系&マイペース系)

いうても今ではあんまりこういうイメージないよね、、

Draft 2

Our editor advised us to try expressing the characters’ personalities stronger, so this time I

tried to show the contrast between them. (Koharu works on the load of boxes promptly, while

Minato gets distracted by her accessories she found from the box.)

But you know, I don’t think we all see them that way so much nowadays... Right?

②に同じ。サボるな。

Draft 3

This came from the same idea as draft 2. Stop slacking off Minato!

①～③を提出したあと、担当さんから「立ち絵にするのはどうか」とアドバイスいただき、

立ち絵の案をいくつか出しました。

④は表紙っぽくなかったので没にしましたが、ねっとりした空気感はカバー裏に採用しまし

た。

Draft 4

After we submitted draft 1 to 3, our editor suggested showing the girls in standing picture

style.

We rejected this one because it simply didn’t look like a cover image, but we kept this

amorous vibe for the alternative version behind the book cover.

案 4.5(ほぼ採用)

表情差分。

腰を抱いて歩くという案はそのままに、もう少し表紙っぽい雰囲気にしました。

1 巻なのでキャラクターの情報(目の色など)はより多くわかった方がいいとのことで、小春

を開眼させました。湊も笑いました。

Draft 4.5 (almost became final draft)

Basically the same as draft 4, but with different facial expressions.

We kept the idea of them walking with Koharu’s arm around Minato’s waist, but we aimed for

a more fitting picture for a comic book cover.

Since this was the first book of the series, our editor encouraged us that there be more

details (such as eye colors) visible from the cover, so we made Koharu's eyes open. We

made Minato smile, too.

関係性がわかりづらかったので没。

小春描くの楽しかったです。

Draft 5Rejected this because it doesn’t quite show what their relationship is like.

Drawing Koharu for this image was a lot of fun.

一番表紙っぽくはある。

⑤に同じく、関係性がわかりづらかったので没。

Draft 6

Looks the most suitable for a comic book’s front cover so far.

Unfortunately this one became rejected too, since it doesn’t deliver the girls’ relationship very

well, just like draft 5.

結果、選ばれたのは…

And that’s everything! Finally, the complete artwork that became the cover is...

小春を開眼させました。湊も笑いました。

We made Koharu's eyes open. We made Minato smile, too.
