ARMY, you say all the time that you don’t mind long reactions, well we’ll see how you feel after this one… because this may be the longest reaction we ever do! Let us know if you change your minds… ;)
If you have not already seen our review of Tracks 1-5 of J-Hope’s “Jack in the Box,” PAUSE HERE and go check that video out now! However, if you’re ready to dig into tracks 6-10 with us…LET’S GOOOO.
Today we present to you our reaction to the following tracks:
06 - Music Box: Reflection
07 - What if
08 - Safety Zone
09 - Future
10 - Arson
We also made sure to check out J-Hope’s “Jack in the Box” Album Interview, which was posted to the BANGTANTV YouTube Channel on July 19th. It was awe-inspiring to hear J-Hope explain—in his own words—the intended meanings behind each song, the processes he used to create them, and the major step in personal growth and development he experienced while creating this album. Is Hobi a genius too?
ARMY, as always, we truly appreciate your love and support (WE’LL CONTINUE SAYING THIS UNTIL THE END OF TIME). Your subscription allows us to produce higher-quality reaction videos, and moves us closer to our goal of doing this full-time! Let us know if you have any questions, feedback, thoughts, etc. at any time! BORAHAE!! 💜💜
Talk talk talk as long as you want. I love the long reaction videos and goodness BTS songs warrant the time and effort! But I’m sure it’s harder to edit so thanks for your diligence.

What is great about watching your analyses is that when you are by yourself reading the lyrics there is no one to bounce your thoughts off of, but watching you guys is like reading the lyrics with a friend and even tho I’m not actively able to discuss my thoughts in real time with you, it’s so helpful to experience that process with someone who loves the deep dive as well!

I’m giving up on me trying to remember everything I want to say for one post at the end, cuz I always forget something. And I’m too lazy to take notes.
So I apologize in advance for all of my possible future multiple posts on each video!
But can I just say that I absolutely loved that you dissected Music Box:Reflection because most people would just think — ah an instrumental nice moving on — but you guys realize that when BTS has instrumentals they matter. I mean honestly the thought and care that goes into every album and the track list is astounding to me. I love that they know how to transition and cleanse the palette so to speak! It’s just another aspect of their artistry that shows their talent!

Oh that’s an interesting thought, and quite viable. I’m sure it’s hard to see people they probably know doing that and then to think — that could be me — especially when you put it in a perspective of — had I made one or two different decisions. I mean remember Hobi almost quit the group, I can’t imagine how much he may think about how life would be different had he quit. That’s a lot of What If’s!

i can't wait for the day you guys react to D2 (whenever that may be). it's the most recent mixtape from agust d. your commentary on 'future' makes me want to see what you'd think about the song 'people'. i think the two are sonically and thematically resonant with each other. loved this video :) happy to have finally joined the patreon as well :D

what if also makes me think of the n-po sedae or the "given up generation". it is a term in korea referring to the young generation who have basically given up everything due to societal pressure. this is something BTS has spoken about multiple times and maybe hoseok is thinking if he hadn't become an idol, maybe he'd be stuck in that cycle

am I the only one who watches this on dropbox but the video abruptly ends at 1 hour and 4 secs, in the middle of the review for the song "Future"? I was very looking forward to the Title track "Arson" but it's not there :( am I the only one? I tried to watch on vimeo too but as soon as I click, it says the site can't be reached.

All I can say is wow. I have never seen such a comprehensive album review. You guys did the album and Hobi so much justice. Even as someone who has heard the songs, read the lyrics, and watched the videos countless of times, you made me see/think about things I hadn't considered. I agree that Hobi is a genius. I can't describe how proud of him I am. This album is art. Hobi would be happy to see his work being appreciated like this 💜.

Wow just finished the video loved every minute! I feel the same way about listening to people analyze the song and it’s meaning or hearing from the members talk about the meanings to their songs and thinking “how did I not get that right away?!” Just wanted to let you guys know you’re not alone in that lol My favorites off of the album are stop and safety zone!! So excited for you guys to watch HOBIPALOOZA it will not disappoint :)

Did anyone else notice the cardboard box burning in Arson? It was in the beginning when he was going by the burning cars? Could it be the cardboard box from More? LOVE your reactions and Hobi’s interview at the end just put everything together. 💜💜

God I appreciate such honest yet fun reactions. Love the theories you bouncy off each other and the surprise as you realize just how crazy it gets. Honestly? I think the most excited thing I’m looking forward to now, is reaction to Agust D. Oh wait till you fall down that rabbit hole 🤡 especially since Suga has always been insanely honest and open. Completely genuine with everything and aiming to always up himself. Confident, but humble. He speaks on his own mental health and anxiety, the treatment he received, and reminding others to not cross him. The Last is a great start. Daechwita for something more recent, and Agust D for some original fast rapping. Excited for more, 💜💜💜

It was cool for me to hear J-Hope say that Equal Sign was the part 2 for P.O.P. from his mixtape HopeWorld. P.O.P. was one of my favorite songs from that project, so it's nice to hear him continue on with that message. So looking forward to the Lollapalooza video! It was awesome!

As always - a very thoughtful reaction. Your willingness to keep digging until the end is appreciated more than you can imagine. Your comments when you got to Hobi’s interview and realizing many of the answers were there made me smile. If you’re reading a novel, you can find out what happens by going to the last chapter first, but where is the fun in that? The journey is part of the discovery and I believe you appreciate the storyteller more following their path and adding your own interpretation here and there. I also look forward to your reaction to Hobipalooza. And I agree it would be great if you could go through all the preceding works first - I don’t think it’s absolutely necessary in your particular case. You did such a deep dive into JITB and the thought process of Hobi that I really think you’re going to appreciate the performance for what it is - a deep thinking genius performer putting his soul on stage for the world to see. You simply have to admire the courage of this very talented man! Can’t wait for More (literally 😄)!!💜💜💜

Awesome reaction guys! It took me 2 days but I couldn't wait to get home after work to watch each half. I agree with Jared that your discussion and analysis was really enjoyable and you guys were for the most part right about the overarching themes. But then jhope came in and summarized each track for you at the end - after all, there's none better than the creator to speak about his 👶! (I can never find that darn mind blown emoji when I need it). There's nothing left to say ... piyoo, piyoo, piyoo (insert mind blown emoji)!!

I love how you take the time to go through each song so thoroughly, this was so interesting to watch. I can't wait for you to react to Hobipalooza, I know his performance will blow you away. When you've watched this it would be great if you could react to the Vlive he posted after the show. Jimin went to Chicago to support Hobi and watch the performance. They went live together afterwards and they talked about his preparations for the show. It gives a real insight into how hard he worked and also their beautiful friendship. I made a connection with something whilst watching this reaction to the song Safety Zone. There's a lyric that says "Where’s the ray of light to relieve me in the darkness?" In this Vlive Hobi talks about how much he was struggling whilst preparing for Hobipalooza and when Jimin came to visit him it was like Jimin became his "light". Jimin was his safety zone! Another wonderful reaction guys. Much love. Borahae!

You should watch the Bangtan Episode for Arson, which is a making of (there's always a video of the behind when they are filming something) it shows how they did it and it's pretty cool ! Again, a great video ! Thank you guys !

What a lovely in-depth reaction!! I am always blown away and amazed with how detailed you are with each song it truly is appreciated!! I am sooo excited and looking forward to the reaction for lollapalloza. Other armys might have already mentioned this but the whole performance is uploaded on "bangtantv" but unfortunately it doesn't have the subtitles/lyrics so I would recommend watching it on "enjoy bts more" as there will be songs that you haven't heard before from Hope world. I also found it more helpful with the lyrics there as it just elevates the performance to a whole another level when you connect the actions he does to what the lyrics actually say ( I hope I am making sense😅). A wonderfully in dept reaction, thank you as always for looking into the meaning of each song. <3
At the end of the video you asked if Hobi slept during the process of the album, well there is a 21min vlive of Hobi (with Jimin) right after Loolapalloza were he talks about his preparations. It would be very benefitial to you if you watch it right after the LP performance to have a grasp of the behind the scenes.

Is Hobi a genius? Simple answer, "Yes". Complex answer, "Yes, he is.". There's just no other way around it. BTS are literal geniuses. People mistake Hobi's light and bright personality for lacking in depth and the reality is he is extremely deep. I think his being overlooked in that aspect has allowed him to see the world with a unique perspective, which leads to his commentaries that people don't expect him to have.

Oh and about Hobipalooza there were around 100k attending the show in Chicago but there were around 14.9 million people watching the stream real time at home. So yes that was hell of a performance from Hobi.😅

Over two hours video this was great experience. I don't mind the long reaction but now I really have to start making notes while watching so I remember everything. Next time I will remember this.😂
This album inclues so many good songs and genious lyrics. I'm so happy that you had the change to listen all of them. This made me want to see you listening to other members solo songs as well but I know I have to be patient.
Future hit me hardest from album. There is so many good qoutes on that song. Thank you once again💜

j-hope perform more than just jack in the box he also perform songs from his first mixtape and bts song in his own version so you will get to see many sides to him doing this performance. after watching it you can always go back and dissect the lyrics of the songs you didn´t know if yo want but some songs are easy to understand. army will let you know if it´s deep and need further dissection hhehe.

Amazing reaction!! "Jack in the Box" is an amazing album and I'm so glad you guys took the time to analyzed it. Hobipalooza is a must watch!!! It makes me emotional just thinking about it! I'm so proud of him for doing this solo performance and taking this leap of faith even though he was nervous to perform on his own. I hope you guys have an amazing day and I can't wait for the next reaction! Borahae!

I actually really like the idea of you guys exploring their solo careers as they release their albums sequentially in this new chapter. This way you can continue your BTS deep dive and everything associated with them as a group but take a moment to appreciate each artist on their own thoroughly as they release their own albums, which they all plan to do as far as we know. I was at Hobipalooza and it's on par with being at Beychella, and that's something I never thought I would say about a performance. Hope World is one of my favourite albums to exist, and I think you guys would really enjoy it, his charisma really shines through in that album and it's the reason he entered my bias line (along with Yoongi and V). I really love how much time you guys take with immersing yourself in the music, it's refreshing!

I cannot express how much I absolutely LOVE your reactions! With so much content out there and so much that I've seen already, it's easy to miss things here and there.. the both of you help shed light on things I've not only missed but things that went completely over my head. Thank you so, so, much!
With bookish theories; when she mentions Arson as acting as a period for the album (even after hobi aslo mentioned it that way) for me I still took it as a possible infinity symbol or repeat of sorts. When she mentions "in Arson he asks himself if he should put out the flame or continue to let it burn. Then with "more" he already gave the answer." It just feels like a repeat of the cycle, Arson asking those questions more giving the answers then taking you back though his journey and processing how he feels and what he feels. Then when you mentioned " is it always in his mind on how it will turn out? The flame burning brighter as he continues or the possibility of it dimming ?" That to me comes back to safety zone. Even though he already decided to continue to let the flames burn, that uncertainty is still there. That's how I personally take it at least lol.
Again, thank you so much for this!!! The amout of work, time and effort you both put into these reactions! As for the length of the reaction, don't worry most of us have sat through reactions 5 hours or more! We will be here with you from start to finish!! Borahae 💜💜💜💜 감사합니다 💜

Thank you for your continued in-depth analysis and your vulnerability in reviewing j-hope’s album “Jack In the Box.” I appreciate when you admit you don’t know something and then search out the answer. That seems to be a disappearing quality, so it’s refreshing to see. I also appreciate the recognition that j-hope is also a lyrical genius. I can’t wait for you to get to Suga’s work too. Somehow, Bang PD found three of the most talented writers and rappers ever and put them in a group together. The average person listening can’t appreciate their genius unless you devote the time, as you have, to study. To fully *get* BTS and its members, you must put in the work which can be a turn off for some people. But what you as a listener, as someone who appreciates music and the written word and art, what you get back in return is exponential.
I know you’ve already said you’ll be watching Hobipalooza, but I encourage you to listen to more of j-hope’s body of work before that. It’ll make the experience so much more enjoyable if you’ve heard his first mixtape, as well as a couple of solo songs from BTS albums like “Trivia: Just Dance” and “Outro: Ego.” As you noted in your review, there are references and call backs that you aren’t aware of yet, so it is absolutely in your best interest to check those out before watching the absolutely EPIC performance j-hope “You can call me Jay (this will make sense when you watch the concert)” gave.
I was lucky enough to be at Hobipalooza and I get emotional, even a month later, thinking about the experience. It was my first BTS-adjacent concert since becoming Army and I’m grateful that I was able to be there to witness it in person. Words cannot convey how it felt, to be in that crowd, to be singing every lyric, to ensuring that Hobi felt our love and appreciation for him and what he’s given us. There was so much love in that crowd of thousands. I’ve been to many concerts and festivals in my 37 years, but that was by far the most incredible and memorable. I can only imagine what a full BTS concert is like!
Thank you for allowing us to travel this journey with you. Your words, insight, and perspective are important and appreciated. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on j-hope and BTS’s extensive catalog! Take care!

Loved this video, it's always fun fun to see your reactions ^^ I have a theory about the bilboard... on it you see the perfect image of a house, a dream home so to say. But what I think it represents is 1. Jhope's image that is being potrayed to the world. 2. His persona that has been built up through the years inside the "box". Jhope sets it on fire to create a new path, a more true self and show us MORE.

A massive "Thank you" for doing an album analysis. You just don't know how much it helped me get through the day. It's the first day of work week and I really don't feel good. I received a notification from you guys that you've dropped a reaction video. I was supposed to watch it after work but naahhh, I got too excited and watch it while working. Lol! Thank you so much for this! He worked tirelessly on this album and you gave it the attention it deserves 💜. Jared asked at the end if JHope got to sleep... it seemed like he really didn't! He did a VLive after Lollapalooza and Jimin made an appearance as well, and you could really see how worried Jimin had been about him. Hobi lost so much weight unintentionally. He said he really lost his appetite, couldn't sleep but was still practicing 6 hours a day to make sure he had stamina for the show. He really is an inspiration with how hard he works, but I just hope he is chilling out now 💜💜💜

Guys, this is amazing work! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Your hours of analysis of this album have been incredibly educational for both you and me. Philosophical album, right? Makes you think about many things... Watching this video, I realized why "Safety Zone" is my favorite song in Hoseok's album. I myself have been asking questions that sound in the song for 6 months already ... When there are no safe places in the country, you start looking for them in your mind. It's scary... But, as we say, "If you suffer for a long time, something will work out"!
BTS is my mental safe zone! And you guys too.
I will say a few words about genius: SUGA is called a musical genius. I really want to see your exploding thoughts about his lyrics and music. Worth stocking up on napkins...🤧
Looking forward to Hobipaloosa!

I am always flabbergasted by the different interpretations you both come up with when dissecting each song. I feel like you both should be professors and teach your students because I always learn something new every time I watch one of your videos. Jordan when you said that each song has room for interpretation, I agree. Jared when you replied with your interpretation can relate to your own experience, I agree. I believe an artist's goal is exactly that. I feel their objective is to put their art out so that each listener can apply their music into personal experiences. That is such a gift. Jhope has said he poured his heart and soul into this album and that's why it is very special for him. I hope with each song, especially this album, that you react to will become very special to you as you continue your journey. 💜💜

Oh my goodness! I can't tell you enough how excited I am to see your reaction to "Hobipalooza"! To feel your emotions and excitement as you experience JHope's almost unbelievable performance. Almost....because it's everything we know and love about him, know that he can do, and he DID IT!! JHope made ALL OF US so proud! And happy! Cant wait to feel your happiness as you watch him! I have watched this at least 20-30 times, and I'm welling up now just thinking of how amazing of a person he is and how he nailed this Lollapalooza format solo format. How we all feel connected through him and just so glad we know him in this life 😊💜 You will absolutely feel his every expression, genuine love for others, and being able to express himself through his music and performance. So proud of him!! 💜💜 And check out the Vlive (on YouTube) he did right after his show, which includes Jimin! Such perspective on the entire experience and how much BTS is their family! Regarding Safety Zone, you are right but also think the box can be the place with BTS members, where he can feel safe. But when he's by himself in “outside” world he need to find and understand people that are real and interested in Hoseok and no in jhope bc of his fame.

I agree and it seemed like the more he got into it his confidence started growing…in the beginning stages of BTS Hobi struggled with hurtful comments I can just imagine how his anxiety level must have been thru the roof and questioning could he do it on his own..but I so admire that he doesn’t give into his fears and tackles them…he’s well on his way if not already there to be being the bravest man I know💜💜

As always your reactions do not disappoint and I love your input and insight as to meanings and just general thoughts on what your seeing or listening to ….I agree with Jared about diving into songs and seeing if you get what they are trying to convey and I love that they have videos of them in interviews with their thoughts on almost everything they do…They are so deep in their music, thoughts and creativity. Jordan I think you said BTS had something for everyone . I think that’s another drawing in factor in their ability to get ones attention …you can relate to each member at some point…Their music is literally about life if you think about it and they make us feel not alone. I was so suprised on this album…he has a lot of fears like rides, bugs and noises…I can relate to having fear so bad it nearly stops me from living and I’m trying to overcome that…Jhope did a Vlive right after the concert (lolapalooza)that I want to see your reaction to…he starts off talking about how he was worried about “could he carry an audience on his own?” Or how this style of music would be recieved even saying he didn’t want to bring shame to the name of BTS…he said he hadn’t slept or eaten much from worrying and you can see he had lost weight…then he tells Jimin to join him on camera…Jimin had gotten there the day before I think he got word that Jhope was struggling and he boarded a plane and went to be there for Hobi cause that’s the way Jimin is….in this vlive you can see and feel the love these guys have for each other….it’s a DEEP brotherhood ….but that’s BTS and why I love them 💜💜💜💜sorry for the novel 🙏😂Thanx again for your reactions …hope you are doing ok and not stressing over giving us content…please never do that we are all here to just share and enjoy this together.

💜💜💜 loved the reaction!! also unrelated to this but when you guys have the chance you should react to videos from the channel boracity magazine theyre similar to bookish theories except they dont do song breakdowns but like video essay/informational videos on different topics related to bts. example bts vs radio or trends bts has created etc

Long reactions are the best from you guys! And when it comes to BTS and solo albums, what else can you do but a deep dive!? My favorite song is definitely safety zone, I just love the sound of it and the way hobi feels comfortable enough to express his doubts and discomforts is really amazing. The whole album is fantastic but that song in particular really drew me in. Also super excited for hobipalooza, what an amazing performance! He does perform nearly his entire discography, including his solo songs within BTS albums. This whole performance was so good that each song he performed sounded so similar to the studio version, so you really will still have an amazing experience without listening to Hope World first!
Thanks for the reaction and hope you guys enjoy everything that’s Yet to Come!!!

Hobipalooza was amazing. It’s like hearing an hour of brand new j-hope songs. Watching him perform brought me glee, joy, and excitement. I just felt so happy for him, and so, so, so proud of him. It was magical watching him on stage. 💜

Yes! I was logging onto comment & say this exact same thing. It's one of my favorite Vlives, showing so much of their relationship. And it feels so much a part of the story Jack-in-the-Box tells (Safety Zone especially). Plus it fits directly with your own final comment on J-Hope's need for sleep!

(2/2) The night before last, I had a dream that I went to Hobipallooza with my family and my army friend. After his performance, I was getting ready to leave but there was an older woman outside of the building hysterically crying. She was having a breakdown and just talking about how she was done with everything. My family was waiting for me in the car but I just couldn’t leave without helping this woman. I felt like I
could feel her hurt sand I needed to help. Myself and some other people were trying to calm her down and talk to her to calm her down. I ended up taking her back into the building and there I just let her rage. She threw things and got everything out and then she started to tell me what was wrong. She said that there was no hope for humanity and that she didn’t want to be on a planet with humans like this anymore as she was exhausted by all of the hate and cruelty of humans. I cried with her and told her that I also felt the same thing and that if I could, I’d leave Earth as well. To go to a place better than here (not by dying but by actually moving somewhere else) because I get tired of the constant tragedy and hardships. But then I told her that it isn’t possible and the only thing we can do is find peace within ourselves and find things that make us happy that remind us of the good things in life and about humanity. Not everyone is horrible, we just have to surround ourselves with good people and be good people as well. She stopped crying and I walked her back out and I told her to always remember what we talked about. I didn’t realize until after I woke up that this last part of my dream about Hobipallooza literally encapsulated what I felt about Safety Zone( in my first comment) and what Jhope wants for humanity(like equal sign).
Idk why but something about this dream really touched me. I think I’ll always remember it. I think in a sense, that woman was myself. Like the lyric in safety zone (these days, I like animals more than humans ). I really resonated with that. I often feel like I’m too good for this world. Not because I’m conceited (far from it). But because I just want peace, I want kindness, equality, safety. All of those things talked about in JITB. And at the end of the day, I don’t think we’ll ever reach a place in humanity where we’ll have that , but we can at least be that for others. We can be a safety zone for somebody else (even for ourselves), we can spread love and hope. I think that’s the only way we’ll be able to keep ourselves sane when thinking about the state of the world.
Anyways I’m so sorry that this is so long. I just thought I’d share this dream because it was both beautiful and heartbreaking to me and I thought you guys would be interested in hearing about it. I hope you both, as well as anyone reading this, are doing well and that you have something that restores your hope when it may dwindle. Much love and support always 💜

Thank you for this awesome album review! It was 🔥 (just to tie “arson” in) I was so surprised by the darker side that J-Hope showed us in this album at first but the more I listened, the more I absolutely love it. J-Hope is such a bright light of hope for us that it makes sense that there is darkness because light shines brighter in darkness. You cant see the stars in the middle of the city but get out to the country and you’ll see them so bright. I am grateful that he shared this side of himself and know that it will help all of us accept those shadows/darker parts of ourselves that maybe we feel like keeping hidden.
I can’t wait for your reaction to Lolapalooza - some other ARMYs might have mentioned it, but J-Hope does a live right after the show with Jimin where he talks about the show. You might find it interesting because he talks about some of the challenges he had in preparing for this epic performance. (And you get to see the beautiful brotherhood between J-Hope and Jimin 💜)

(1/2) Okay so this is going to be a long comment. I apologize. Before I get into it tho, I just want to say thank you for the reaction. Congratulations on getting through your first album review! I can’t wait for your reaction to Hobipallooza! I’ve watched the performance at least 6 times by now and I’m so excited to watch it again with you both.
Okay so for this album, as I mentioned in my comment on part 1 is so emotional for me. I sobbed at various moments when it came out. For Safety Zone, I cried so much. It’s my favorite on the album. I’m in love with the soulfulness of it and just the entire thing. When I first listened to safety zone, I think I felt seen and understood by Jhope. With so much going on in this world, personal and as a society, it’s hard to have any hope that there’s a safe space for you. When I heard the song, I didn’t have the lyrics to read and understand more, but I could still FEEL it. I feel a very similar way with Hoseok and I’m sure so many other people in being lost and not knowing where I could go to fine solace, safety, and rest. I personally related it to the world, because I’ve honestly lost all hope in humanity and this world. There seems like there will never be an end to tragedy and I often feel like I’m not safe anywhere. Those were my thoughts when listening to it. Future was another song I cried to (I sound like a crybaby😂) The song is extremely hopeful, extremely hopeful. It made me think about Hoseok and what he’s gone through to get to where he is. It felt victorious. Like listening to the whole album as a book, Future is the part where everything has worked out for the Jhope and he’s achieved what he’s always wanted( my view from my initial listen). I cried for Jhope out of how immensely proud of him I am. It was like “you made it, Jhope. After everything, you made and I couldn’t be more proud.” That was my exact thoughts for Future. The sentiment was even more powerful when he performed it at Lolla. I didn’t shed any tears watching it live (on Hulu) but I did when I watched the performance over. Again, I was just overwhelmingly proud of him. Jhope deserves everything and I’m just so so so happy for him. This was his moment.
Anyways I have one more comment I wanna make and it’s gonna be another long one so again I’m so sorry. I just want to share one more thing 😅

This was an amazing journey into an incredible solo project. I loved that you included Hobi’s interview at the end which really cemented a lot of how you felt about each song. I really appreciate how difficult it was for him to reflect and write the album during the 2 years of the pandemic. I felt he expressed many of the feelings and fears that we have all been experiencing during this time. It’s also at a time of great change in his life going forward in so many ways with BTS and on his own. The reference to the Salmon swimming upstream is spot on because when they reach the end, they spawn and die. He’s chosen to go with the flow, not fight against the fame (and it’s restrictions) but to embrace his ambitions and burn even brighter even though it must be incredibly frightening at the thought of doing it on his own. Whatever fears he had I hope have been put to rest because he made “Hobipalooza” his own, hands down! You will not be disappointed. Thanks guys 🤗🙏💜💜🇨🇦

I have to say I love J-hope's first mixtape, Hope World. I loved Jack in the Box from the beginning. However when he performed at Lollapalooza Oh My Gosh! It put this album into the stratusphere for me, it's untouchable to any artist today.
If you don't do anything else it is absolutely a must that you either watch that performance or react to it. The first half of it for me was the best the way he performed the songs on this album you could see the passion within him.
I have watched that performance at Lollapalooza probably over 30 times in the last month in various ways. Watching other reactors react to it, listening to it while excercizing, listening to the concert while I'm working. Okay, I'm done. He's a fantastic artist and performer. Just think he taught himself how to rap. And he's d**n good at it! That's a story for another time. Thank you for a great reaction. 💜

Thank you so much for this! You must also watch the behind the scenes of the making of the music videos for both "More" and "Arson." You will see things in the video that you did not notice before and you will hear and see it from the ears and eyes of Hobi himself. I cannot wait until you watch Hobipalooza. He has broken sooo many records...it's just unbelievable. I will continue to thank you for what you do. I literally just finished part one when I received a notification that you just dropped part two. I was feeling down today. I'm a mother of four, a wife and teacher. I admit I was not going to watch this album review, but you took someone who was feeling down and made her hopeful for the future. I thank you once again. Borahae 💜 💜 💜

Really enjoyed watching you go through this masterpiece of an album. The amount of care and thoughtfulness BTS puts into their work just always shows and Hobi was standout. As far as analysis goes although many Army enjoy the songs we as a fandom tend to love digging into analysis and discovering things, sharing and debating theories. So much so that for several years now there is an actual BTS academic conference that happens yearly with top academic speakers (https://bts-conference-seoul.com). Their lyrics have been part of a Harvard Law Review actually cited a BTS song in an important piece (https://pandey-swarnim56.medium.com/btss-baepsae-and-the-harvard-law-review-51905ce08d97). The amount of arm chair casual up to phd level scholars who love to analyze all things BTS gives us is a piece of their appeal. They aren’t junk food like most pop music which tends to be empty calories content wise something you consume and forget moving on to the next instant gratification, but a complex filling meal served in courses that makes you reflect and enjoy. That gets better the more you chew on it. The theory channels on all platforms are popular for that reason for those that want to know but don’t have a skill for it. All that to say Hobi fed us soooo well and explained it as they do, it’s common for someone or several of BTS to do an album walkthrough like this although they’ve tried many formats.

Congratulations on finishing your first album review! Thank you for sharing your Jack In the Box journey with us. We love long videos, so we'll be here with you regardless of how long it takes! Breaking down an album can be difficult sometimes, especially with one as personal as this one as only Hobi can truly understand the depth of his own music. Luckily, he opened up his mind to us and walked us through his process. So much respect for him, not only for being upfront about his vulnerabilities as an artist and a human, but for his dedication to make this album something that he can be proud of by having as much input as he could in the creative process. So proud of j-hope for creating such a real, sincere album and for performing it so soon after it was released in an hour-long performance all by himself. We love the content and your respect shown throughout, please don't overwork yourselves! Can't wait for what you show us next.

I don't know how willing you guys are to continue with album reviews/listen parties. JITB is fairly short and it took 2 parts with an analysis, so how does it sound to do a listen through with mvs/lyric/performance videos (we provide sources and links ofc) and then a separate analysis video, I think this would allow you guys to listen and still analyze to cover eough ground in their discography without having to do 4 part album reviews due to the amount of songs. This is just a suggestion, you can do whatever you want in the end and I'm sure other ARMYs can come up with a better option. Borahae.
PS. I'm still watching so look out for more comments lol

It's interesting to look deeper into the Giving Tree lyrics in Safe Zone because near the end of the book, after the tree has given the boy everything throughout his life (like apples, leaves, shade, etc), he's still left with the stump. The end of the book depicts the boy all grown up as an old man as he retreats back to the tree and uses the stump as a seat to sit and relax finally. I think J-Hope is saying that even though he has people in his life that give him everything and are 'yes men', none of them are there for him when he needs to take a seat and relax for a moment (aka they give him so much but refuse to let him take a break from his work). But that's just my interpretation :)
