So glad you did this one! This album feels generational, and I totally agree that it is reminiscent of the early 2000s alt rock scene but with such a rivetingly original and genre-bending take. I really think this album will go down as something truly special, as it already is to almost all of us that have heard it!

Life changing experience listening to this album. Very happy you did this. Would love to see you do American Football’s first LP some day, I had a similar experience when I heard that the first time. Don’t know if you’ve listened to it already, but it would be so cool to see you do it.

Didn’t think you’d react to this in a million years. Undoubtably the greatest album I’ve heard come out in my 19 year lifetime to me. A bunch of lyrics to analyze that go deeper than ever, but one of my favorites is “Your generous loan to me, your crippling interest”. Isaac is referencing the “loan” that the listeners give him- the popularity, support, and ability to make music for a living, and then sharply contrasts it to the “crippling interest” - the pressure of him having to live up to certain expectations with all of these eyes on him, and be the “cool” frontman of the next musical sensation. Definitely a lot for anyone to handle. Glad he had the courage to step away, because we’ve seen situations where artists have exited a band in a much more horrific way. Mental health always comes first.

God damn, I am so glad you listened to this. Not just because we got a great react, but more because everyone should experience this album. It may not be for everyone but it is an absolute masterpiece. I’m calling it now. AOTY 2022.
Also new Twigs react soon?

Truly an amazing album. Just so much to delve into and uncover from every song, even Mark's Theme which is actually dedicated to Lewis the saxophonist's uncle Mark who passed away from COVID I believe, the audio clip at the end being Mark himself apparently. I recommend an album by another upcoming English rock band "black midi" and their recent album "Cavalcade." Also please listen to their debut as well, a lot more prog then this one and still amazing.

I fell deeply in love with this band in the last few weeks, and I can't explain how moving it is to watch you undergo the same experience I did.

I really like this format! A lot more laid back and chill. It would be cool to do some more of the indie reactions on the Patreon. This album is a true masterpiece! One of the few albums that really transcends what music is. Another one that gave me the same feeling was Titanic Rising by Weyes Blood. A true masterclass in songwriting and atmosphere.

Found these guys a few months ago, become one of my favorite groups since. Shame the singer had to walk away but at least we got this masterpiece.

I‘m so so glad you did this.
I‘m a long time subscriber but I listen to much more than just hip-hop and I am so excited to see you covering other music as well, especially if it is such monumentally great one. As you, I was blown away by this album at the first listen. Some of the best music I heard in maybe forever.
Let’s make the channel great together for all the music lovers out there! Much love!

It’s hilarious that you mentioned this album potentially falling off for you on future listens, bc the first time I heard this I thought it was good but not as fulfilling as their debut. And now that I’ve given it some time and I’m listening to it a second time alongside this vid, I’m absolutely blown away by some of these arrangements and song structures lmao. Such a unique album, rock is in solid hands rn.

So happy you did this. Literally subbed to the Patreon to see this. Loved your vids for a long time, but BCNR was the one to push it over the edge for me to sub. Would love to see you do their debut album too. But yeah -- AFUT is an easy 10 for me. Love your stuff Jon, thanks for giving me a place to love music.

I'm so happy you did this. I think there's a solid portion of your fanbase (like me) who are just music lovers in general. Everyone has their preferences but certain spectacular albums transcend preferences, for me at least. This is one of those albums to me.

Thanks for sharing. Beautiful album that is only going to get better and better with age. With bands like BCNR, Black Midi, Shame, Yard Act etc. we’re in for some great art for years to come

Love when we veer out of hip hop and RnB for little while. Been listening to this album all weekend and just falling in love with it. Would love to see more kind of raw reactions like this that are a little more off the main path we go into on the main channel. Good video to just chill out to.
