Poll Time! UNDERGROUND EDITION

This is for the weird, the hardcore, the stuff that wouldn't necessarily work on the main channel but you NEED me to hear it

Comments

Jordan Oconnor

Lachlan Frost

3001 a laced odyssey is an absolute must listen

Alan

Victor Vaughn - Vaudeville Villain

Michael

Ka Honor killed the samurai

Calem Joseph

Still surprised 3001 by FBZ hasn't been done yet, seems right in his vain as a hip hop album that has rock/metal energy

Max

You NEED to do a Ka album! I think Orpheus vs. the sirens is a good starting point but all his albums are great, you can’t go wrong. Honor Killed The Samurai, Descendants Of Cain or A Martyr’s Reward would all be great picks too

Brad 02K

He has, he’s a fan and has been to a concert

Brad 02K

Just realized you haven't done Denzel yet I think, you gotta do TA13OO, you'll absolutely love his energy

Maadhav

Lassikko

SOPHIE.

Jules

I have actually been waiting years for him to do this as I find there are not a whole lot of rappers who were like him and still aren't. I can't think of a rapper I listen to like him and actually am either scared or genuinely believe everything he talks about in his music

Nathan Dickson

mavi - let the sun talk. MUST listen for literally anyone.

aiden

you need to hear anything from MIKE. absolutely need to. currently the king of the underground for me and many others. i’d recommend tears of joy to start but his whole discog is incredible. acquired taste for sure, but once you get where he’s coming from, it’s heartbreaking, mind blowing shit

Clowncore seems like an obvious choice.

Corey Hughes

Black Star - Mos Def & Talib Kweli. My last suggestion is arguably my best in terms of fitting the criteria. This sole album cemented Black Star as one of the best hip hop duos of all time.

LuigiThatItalian

The Lost Tapes - Nas. You haven’t given Nas a deep dive and this album would be a perfect excuse to. None of the mainstream singles many associate with Nas, just some of the best examples of him doing what he’s best at.

LuigiThatItalian

AmeriKKKan Korruption - Capital Steez. The only true example of a voice that would have greatly impacted hip hop if it got the chance to come to fruition. The production is top tier though some of the beats are recycled from other peoples’ songs.

LuigiThatItalian

Lifestylez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous - Big L. Massively ahead of its time in terms of multi-syllabic rhyme structure and is genuinely eerie when putting into context Big L’s unfortunate demise.

LuigiThatItalian

Black On Both Sides - Mos Def. Arguably one of the most important underground albums of all time.

LuigiThatItalian

Be - Common. Im counting it as underground because there aren’t any giant radio singles and Common is the poster boy for ‘conscious’ rap

LuigiThatItalian

I am once again asking for LAUSSE the cat - The Girl, The Cat, and the Tree

Albert Manukyan

Grip - I Died For This?! (or Snubnose) looks like you liked the Eminem song, and he deserves more recognition, perfect time to give him a boost and his albums are incredible and thought out
