2021-08-20 20:01:23 +0000 UTCI always wondered what the actual dads think of these songs that reference them in an oedipal context. Lana's dad in particular. I mean there are songs where she talks about a man and then in another verse, she brings up her dad, sometimes even directly comparing her father and her lover. Maybe the dads feel guilt? Discomfort? I wonder. Anyway, I enjoyed this album. Lorde is not as melodramatic and intense as some of my favourite artists like Lana and Hozier, but I might enjoy her as a quiet easy listen.
