IOS Fees (and How to Avoid Them)

Hey guys, just a heads up, Apple will be charging a 30% fee when you purchase a tier in the Patreon app. This boosts the price of the tiers and that money does not go to the creators that you're generously spending on.

Although none of you have reported it happening as of yet, it still greatly upsets me, as it does a lot of creators, since your support that is supposed to be for small creators is being unknowingly hijacked by a large corporation. It really sucks.

To prevent this, do NOT purchase tiers on the app. Log in using the website instead and purchase a tier there. You will still be able to access it on the app, but you will not have to pay a greater price. Most of that money will go to me, with a small percent going to Patreon, and you will not be paying Apple any of it.
