Lmao loved watching you bumping to a song and then catching a bar and going "yo what the fuck" and then going back to feeling the track again. That's basically how early Tyler is, it's a lot like Pink Guy. You're really feeling the music and then you hear him say something and feel terrible for nodding along to the song, but it's so good musically that you can't help enjoying it.

might as well skip goblin if this is how you feel about bastard :\ goblin is just bastard with less genuine personality and more shock edgy rape stuff

I’m happy you at least gave this album a courtesy listen, but you’re going to LOVE Tyler season I promise.

omg Lana and Tyler are my top 2 fav artists of all time, unique talents that pave their own lane. so crazy I found you right in time for both!! looking back at bastard idk how I even stomached casually bumping these songs at 16, it was such an interesting era, speaks to how much cancel culture has grown lol... but Tylers growth is legendary and its so worth pushing through to see how he evolves

Agree with this comment 100% bro. It's interesting looking back and wondering why I was even into this when I was 16 - I didn't particularly like that style of rap and certainly didn't agree with what he was rapping about. I think it was more the movement people were into

This is as good a reaction as you could do for this album bro. You were understanding of its context and not immediately dismissive of its content. I ageee its rough as guts, and is hard to see what I liked about it as a 17 year old.
Looking forward to the rest of Tyler szn, promise it doesnt get this bad again.

I agree I’m with this. Also it’s produced completely by The Alchemist and he’s been on a roll lately working with Griselda and Freddie Gibbs.

Yea Bastard doesn’t hold up very good with time but as a teen I enjoyed it, he takes a big step with Goblin. Still says some questionable things but you can start to see the growth starting with Goblin for sure.

the three sessions dr TC mentions are this, goblin and bastard i believe! the evolution from this to wolf and IGOR is beyond fascinating to me! i still love several songs on this a lot, but it has some duds for sure! knowing this is 17-18 year olds in 2009 makes it a lot less offensive to me! sarah is like watching a horror movie to me! its disgusting but oddly entertaining! like Eminems earlier stuff!

I became a fan of Tyler when i was in highschool, i heard Goblin before bastard an goblin in particular spoke to me more then and still does now. I never fully understood the reverence for Bastard. This is a decent album for an 18 yearmold and has a few tracks (French, Bastard, Assmilk, Seven, Pigs Fly) that i did play alot. As a 15 year old listening to this i had no issue with the subject matter,in fact i appreciated the edginess that existed in this fantasy world he creates, it felt cool at the time. But alot of it to me just wasnt interesting enough musically bring me back. I think you'll like Goblin more, its a better album musically IMO and while some of these these themes stil exist, as a whole the album doesn't get bogged down in the rape stuff nearly as much, though its still plenty offensive at times.

had a feeling this mixtape wouldn’t sit well with you, definitely understand why. Just wondering when to expect the next Tyler project reaction, i’ve wanted you to do his journey for a while cos his development is astonishing. Excited to watch you react to all the projects left, especially Wolf and wanna see your reaction to songs like FUCKING YOUNG/PERFECT and SMUCKERS on Cherry Bomb. This journey is gonna be great to watch

No Idol's by Domo Genesis is a classic mixtape as well. You've enjoyed his work on Piñata and now Bastard. It's only a matter of time. & When I say CLASSIC I really mean classic

Just finished the reaction. Yeah it’s a bunch of edgy teenage humor and shock value stuff but when it came out it felt so fresh and different i think people really got infatuated with Tyler as a character. Respect the honest reaction.
