[MF] Ch 24: Level 10— Comedy Gacha

— — — — — —

Command Seals were something Kaito had already considered getting his hands on. After all, they were essential for joining the Fourth Holy Grail War.

His original plan was simple: when the war officially began, he'd go after Ryunosuke Uryuu—the worthless piece of human trash the Grail dragged in to fill the numbers—and steal his Command Seal.

That kind of monster who killed women and children for fun? Kaito despised him more than anyone. Sure, he liked messing around and playing the fool, but even fools have their preferences—and nothing made Kaito happier than the genuine smiles of kids.

For someone like Ryunosuke, who destroyed that innocence and called it "art," there was only one proper label: non-recyclable garbage.

So his plan had been perfect—kill the trash, take the Seal, and enter the Holy Grail War as a proper Master.

But plans rarely survive reality. The Command Seal came to him early, and that was not something he'd seen coming.

He wasn't surprised that they'd appeared a year before the Grail War began, though. By now, the Three Founding Families and a few others probably already had their Seals. It was just that the Grail itself hadn't activated yet, so no one could summon a Servant.

The question was—why him? Kaito had no direct connection to the Holy Grail War and zero interest in using the Grail's wish-granting function. So why the sudden upgrade to Master status?

Curious, Kaito decided not to waste time overthinking. When you've got a system, you use it.

He immediately asked the Fun System where the Command Seals had come from.

The Fun System wasn't restrictive; as long as the question didn't touch something locked, it usually answered.

This time was no exception.

It turned out the Seals originally belonged to the Matou family—part of the Three Families' inherent authority over the Holy Grail War. They had been in Zouken's possession. But when Kaito vaporized the old worm's body, the Seal automatically became ownerless. Since the remaining Matous weren't magi and had no mana, the Seal followed the rules and transferred to the one who defeated the previous holder—Kaito Kurobane.

However, because Kaito had been in his "Iron Man Tokiomi" form at the time, the persona's card data automatically rejected outside contracts. The Seal didn't register until he reverted to normal.

If he'd stayed transformed a little longer, the Grail would have rerouted the Seal to someone else entirely.

After learning this, Kaito rubbed his chin thoughtfully, wondering what kind of fun he could squeeze out of an early Command Seal.

He mulled it over for a bit, then decided to shelve the idea and move on to something more tangible—tonight's loot.

His inventory was packed with all sorts of things: gold-lined walls, furniture, heirlooms—the works. Basically, anything valuable the Matous had was now in his possession. A chaotic mix, sure, but an undeniable windfall. Among the haul were quite a few antiques that, with proper handling, would fetch a small fortune.

Luckily, Touko Aozaki had all the right connections for this kind of business. Kaito planned to let "Scarred Red" handle the reselling.

Still, shiny trinkets weren't what excited him most. It was the Fun Points.

A quick check showed his total had climbed to 4,140, up from 2,446 before tonight's little raid—a gain of 1,694 points.

Another huge win. Not quite as profitable as the Kotomine family, but about on par with what he'd earned at the Tohsakas.

With that many points, it was time for an upgrade spree.

Without hesitation, Kaito followed his original plan and poured points into leveling himself up.

From level 5 to 6 cost 300 points, and from 9 to 10 cost 700. Altogether, he spent 2,500 Fun Points, breaking through to level 10.

Instantly, Kaito felt his body surge with power. His muscles tightened and swelled with clean, defined lines. When he stripped off his shirt and glanced in the mirror, his reflection looked like a hand-carved sculpture—every contour smooth and sharp.

At this point, he could practically rival a marble statue of a Greek god, the kind that made most women's brains short-circuit on sight.

As for raw power? Kaito was confident he could punch out a Siberian tiger in one hit.

And that wasn't an exaggeration. In this system, an average adult's base Strength stat was only 2. At 20 points, Kaito was straight-up Captain America tier.

In a world crawling with monsters and mages, that kind of strength meant he didn't have to worry about dying anytime soon—as long as he didn't do anything too stupid.

Still, physical stats weren't what thrilled him most. What really caught his interest was the new feature unlocked at level 10.

When he hit Level 5, he got Super Gacha. (ch 7)

And now, at Level 10, he's unlocked [Comedy Gacha]

Yup... Another Gacha system—except this one drew skills instead of items. Plus the Super Gacha's pool had been tied to each world's specific setting, but the Comedy Gacha wasn't limited by that at all.

And from the name alone, Kaito could tell these weren't going to be "normal" skills. They'd match his Joker vibe—skills with comedic, absurd, or outright broken effects.

And everyone knew comedy logic didn't play by reality's rules. In fiction, gag powers often ignored sense entirely, sometimes even rewriting the laws of the world itself.

After reading through the details, Kaito's eyes lit up. This was absurdly overpowered—even by the Fun System's standards.

If there were no limits, he could just spam this draw until he became an invincible Comedy God, bending reality through sheer ridiculousness.

The one and only God of Fun.

Of course, life's never that easy.

A deeper look revealed the restrictions, which thankfully made sense.

The Skill Draw was tied to his level. He could only pull once every five levels, and the Fun Point cost doubled each time.

The first draw cost 1,000 points, the second 2,000, and so on—exponentially scaling like some sadistic board-game economy.

And leveling up had gotten pricier, too.

To go from level 10 to 11 now cost 1,000 Fun Points—up from 700. The inflation curve was brutal.

"Figures," Kaito muttered, clicking his tongue. "A system designed for infinite grind and power creep."

Still, complaints aside, he didn't hesitate.

He spent 1,000 Fun Points and activated his very first Comedy Gacha draw.
