Wednesday Pin-Ups: Fallout Vault 63

So the Fallout show came out and it was very good. The first episode was my favorite. So because it was a good show and has the BEST line that is relevant to any Bethesda game, here's some Fallout pin-ups. Don't worry, there's no spoilers for the show here. I'm also writing this a week in the past! Hi, future people!

I tried to aim for more overt TG stuff this time, but I didn't get any images worthy of a standalone caption. So instead, the story for this is that some guy wandered into Vault 63 where they were performing 'gender alteration' tests utilizing a specific form of FEV (Forced Evolutionary Virus) to create total and complete reversal of a individual's gender. Said individual accidentally got exposed to the FEV and was subsequently transformed into a sexy woman.

I'm going to lore dump about the Fallout lore for a bit, so if you're just here for the pictures, I hope you enjoyed them. If not, read on! There ARE spoilers in this section for game lore but it doesn't really impact the show so if you're interested or unbothered by spoilers, read on!

For those of you that don't know Fallout lore, the Vaults that the player character in the Fallout games comes from were not all just self-sufficient bunkers to save humanity in the event of total atomic annihilation. Instead, Vault-Tec (the company that built the Vaults and was one of the biggest corporations in America with significant political pull) created the Vaults to basically perform mad science on the inhabitants. Only a few were actually outfitted to actually keep people safe for re-population of the surface after radiation levels dropped to safe levels. for these 'Control Vaults', they were equipped with a device called the GECK, or the Garden of Eden Creation Kit, which was basically the most advanced technology Humanity ever produced and were basically tiny terraformer units in briefcases. But for the other, more common Vaults...

If you played Fallout 4, that's why you were frozen for two hundred years. Other Vaults had other experiments done to them, such as a Vault filled with women but one man, and vice versa. Another Vault was filled entirely with clones of one man named Gary. And another one was a complex for a totally immersive virtual reality simulation. The final one, another Fallout 4 Vault, was basically a Super Soldier training Vault located directly beneath a school, and was where the Gunners faction comes from in that game.

And of course, there were Vaults dedicated entirely to the research of the Forced Evolutionary Virus, which is where nearly all of the mutated wildlife comes from in the Fallout world. And, of course, the Super Mutants, the iconic enemy type of the franchise. In the original Fallout game, the FEV created a biomass called The Master, and he/it would create new Super Mutants by dipping people in FEV. In the Bethesda era games, Super Mutants on the East Coast were created by other Super Mutants who kidnapped people and dipped them in vats of FEV located in Vault 87.

Some were never finished, or purposefully delayed simply for Vault-Tec could get more money from the American government.

All in all, the Vaults were NOT GOOD PLACES, but ultimately DID help with ensuring humanity's survival even with all the mad science that happened.

There's actually a Vault 63 within Fallout 76, the online Fallout live service game. It's an unfinished and empty location however, so...I guess we can say this is what was in there? I dunno, but it's good enough for me.

If you made it this far, I hope you enjoyed the pictures and my ramblings.
