GENIE'D! Chapter 2 Page 4

The meeting begins! Thank you for your patience, and I'm uploading this this evening instead of waiting until Friday (so you get three uploads this week, yay!). Hopefully the production issues smooth out a bit and we can mostly get back on schedule.

Also for the record, I am NOT an engineer of any sort, lol. The dialogue here is just me mashing things together and hoping it sounds cohesive, lol.

TEXT

Panel 1

*A few minutes later, Zara, still appearing to everyone as Chris, her former male self, is in the conference room with her supervisor Mitch and several high level executives*

Mitch (Brown hair): "Chris, I think we're all here. Please show us your proposal for the new engineering plans"

*Zara takes a breath and nods*

Zara: "Thank you, Mitch. Before I begin, I, uh, just want to say that it is truly an honor that you would take time out of your busy sched-"

*The older man in the conference room, the highest executive there, clears his throat*

Executive: "Son, just skip to the meat. If I wanted my ass kissed, I would have stayed upstairs"

Panel 2

*Zara, a bit flustered, shuffles her papers and tries to stay focused and not let her nervousness derail her*

Zara: "Oh, r-right. I'll begin now"

Panel 3 SEQUENCE

*Zara launches into her prepared speech, pointing out her carefully researched information to the executives and her supervisor. Her presentation is full of energy and vigor, her shaky confidence stabilizing once she finds her flow*

Zara: "Well, as you know, the current overpass is out of date and built out of old materials. It's design is inefficient and my proposal seeks to modernize the overpass from a design and engineering standpoint...

*Zara continues on for some minutes, pointing to different pages of data that she had previously prepared before the events of the last two days had occurred*

Zara: "...According to the data I've collected, the cost of materials alone would decrease the overall price of the project while giving us a 15% profit on top of the existing contract bid..."

*The presentation continues, and in the brief moments that Zara allows herself for prepared pauses as the executive team digests the information, she can see that they are very, very pleased with what they're hearing*

Panel 4

*After some time, Zara's presentation winds to a close*

Zara: "In closing, I believe that my design will boost the image of our company and make us a true leader in modern urban infrastructure. I'm confident that with my design we will not only secure this contract, but future infrastructure contracts!"

*Zara bows her head, a large smile on her face as she concludes her presentation*

Zara: "Thank you for your time!"

Panel 5

*The gathered executive team claps enthusiastically, with the older executive gentlemen rising from his chair and approaching Zara*

Executive: "Well done, lad. Well done!"

Zara (blushing): " Thank you, sir"

Executive: "I think I speak for everyone when I say that your enthusiasm is infectious! I wish we could all have the same youth and vigor that you have. It's something that we tend to lose as we get older"

*The color drains from Zara's face as terror strikes her heart and she feels the undeniable urge rapidly building up within her*

Zara: "Granted! Oh no! Please not here!"
