Wish Coins: The Argument

Pete and Rachel were an odd couple. They loved each other...But they fought ALL the time! Their friends never knew how the two made it work with all the arguing they did. They fought about what to eat, what each other work, what to watch, even over something as petty as which gas station to fill up at! But somehow Rachel and Pete had stayed together for six years, longer than some couples they knew that had broken up despite never having fought once! Of course, if THEY had realized that, they'd fight over it as well. Today was no different, despite being at a festival. The two had entered into a game of chance with one of the vendors in the midway. Despite the games being rigged, Peter had managed to win! The old man had smiled and handed them a gold coin, telling them it was good for ONE wish! The couple didn't believe it for a second, of course, but they were happy that they had won. At least until they'd left the festival and were heading back to the parking lot to leave when they broke into another fight.

"I can't believe you'd waste a wish on a new car of all things! We could be rich!" Rachel groaned. Once again, her man was thinking just about showing up his friends rather than thinking ahead.

"Well it'd be a damn sight better than you wishing for an unending supply of makeup!" Pete grumbled. This woman, always focused on looking prettier than the rest! He gripped the gold coin tight in his hand, having pulled it out and accidentally starting the fight by asking the blonde what she'd wish for if magic had been real.

"At least MY wish would get used! You'd get bored of your toy, just like every little boy does!" Rachel spat back.

"Like hell I would! Y'know, sometimes I really just wish I could understand what was going through that head of yours!" Pete snarled, before it turned into a yelp of pain as his coin-holding fist suddenly felt like it was burning! And then it...wasn't! But there was definitely something wrong with all the long blodne hair in his eyes! And theweird weight on his chest! Pete looked down, causing more blonde hair to fill his vision as he saw two breasts poking through the fabric of the dark shirt he had most definitely NOT been wearing!

"OH MY GAWD!" A male voice boomed next to Pete and he turned to see his own body looking at him!

"...Rach?" Pete asked timidly in a voice that was NOT his own, getting a wide-eyed nod in return, "Oh god, that coin! It was real! MAGIC IS REAL! WE SWITCHED BODIES!"

"Oh you think!?" Rachel, in Pete's body, snarled, "Maybe if you were this observant before we wouldn't be in this mess!"

"I can't believe you're blaming this on me! We BOTH started that arguement! IF you'd just let me wish for the car we wouldn't-" Pete hissed back, refusing to take responsibility for what had happened.

The couple never did get their bodies back and had to learn to live as the opposite sex...But they still fought like cats and dogs. To their friends it seemed like the more that things had changed, the more they stayed the same!
