Electricity cost
Added 2022-09-05 16:51:08 +0000 UTCSooo, our electricity costs tripled in short time, so I'll be expecting pay a lot more for that shit this year and during the spring next year.
Luckily, I work at nights when electricity is cheaper. So I just have to keep eye on which time I do my rendering. (basically between 23.00 and 06.00), otherwise even the money I get from you generous people doesn't make up for the expences.
Also, luckily, I have bought enough models and other Daz3D assets for next years projects, so this won't get super-expensive. IF I remember to restrict my rendering to between those cheaper electricity hours from 23.00 to 06.00.
But it also means that I only have 7 hours of rendering time, per day. That's half what I usually spent on on projects on my days off. (I might sometimes do even 20 hour rendering marathons, when I get really into the project)
What it means? Well, I will probably start releasing smaller sets. I won't drop the quality, even though it would make things faster.
But I won't release 60-90 image sets anymore for a while. (I will do them again, when electricity costs drop). Maybe 30 pictures per set or something like that, for now. Whatever I can do in those two or three days I have, between my actual work and this.
Good news is, I have actual excuse to sleep longer on my days off from work.
"Electricity is too expensive to make coffee, lemme sleep two more hours and we'll see."
