I understand those people who enjoyed seasons 7 and 8. However, I wonder if those people only watched the HBO show. As one who read the books before the show came along, I was supremely disappointed in these seasons.
The books ended where season 5 ended. The writers then had to decide how they were going to finish the series. What was worse is that they needed to wrap it up as quickly as possible because they wanted to move on to new projects. This is why there was only 7 episodes in season 7 and 6 episodes in season 8. I'm sure you have felt how rushed the story felt.
There were many story arcs that were completely dropped. Did you know that there was a prophecy that Cersei was going to die at the hands of one of her brothers? Not in the arms of her brother! Now that many years have passed (and GRR Martin seems unable to finish the books), I am going to write my own conclusion to the story.
Wish me luck!

I don't care what other people on the internet say, Season 8 is awesome. Sure, it has a couple of flaws, but so did the other seasons

Innocent slave owners? Sam's father would not kneel and refused the wall. His brother was old enough to know what he was doing. Not quite the same as random peasants..... No that was character whiplash and no telegraphed at all. Complete and unexplained reversal of her character arch.

Almost there! It's been a heck of a journey 💜💜💜💜. At the time I watched this episode I was very angry with what felt to me like bad writing and a total change of character. But upon rewatching I do think there were a lot of signs throughout of Dany's turn. I don't think they had enough episodes in this final season for it to feel as earned as it was suppose to.

Danny has been crazy for a long time. She crucified innocent people in a liberated city. Or think of Sam's father and brother.

This is my first time watching this episode since I never finished the last 3 back when they came out.
Maybe the dumbest thing I've seen in the entire 8 seasons is Euron washing up on shore where Jamie happens to be.

PLOT CONTRIVANCE: An artificial or unbelievable event or detail in a story that the author (writers) uses to FORCE the plot forward, often because it lacks a natural or LOGICAL cause and effect. Seasons 7 and especially season 8 were full of plot contrivances. One of the results of bad, lazy writing is established characters acting out of character. 😞😞

I don't know why you 2 like Jamie so much. He so trash. Everyone is trash except for Brand and you will know why in the last episode.

Her reason is this Hela. Cerci didn't think Danny would burn the red keep that's why she wanted to prove Cerci wrong by doing so. Plus she hate Cerci too.

I told yall already Jon is weak. His weakest traits is his devotion and loyalty which is his father side.

It is poorly written and poorly executed, even they noticed that it's basically character assassination, she didn't accidentally kill the women and children she killed them all on purpose, after the war was already won, to the point where her actual enemy nearly escaped. There is no logic in doing that for any reason, she had absolutely no reason to murder women and children. She could have very well become the mad queen without that nonsense.

When it was released I hated it, but now it actually makes sense for Game of Thrones, you either play the game or die. People still over hate season 8 except for the last half of episode six which is just awful. HE BECOMES KING WHAT. Anywaysss

I really thought that one of the most misunderstood elements of Dany was that she suddenly flipped and went mad...It was really a process and one that was foreshadowed over time by the show (and Targaryen family history as it's common for people in that family) Now I do think the tv show could have handled it better and done a better job of taking us down that path but no...Dany didn't just suddenly flip and go mad. The girls are down to their final episode next week...Been a fun ride to see them progress the way we all did a decade ago. In this episode it was funny how their reaction to the show going easy on Cersei's death really being similar to most people's in that they weren't happy with the show trying to romanticize it, or make the viewer feel sympathy for such a cold and evil character. Cersei's death should have been as cold as her life was.

I dont think that it was unproven. To me, she was always power hungry.

I was so angry when this episode aired. I think they tried to have us believe Daenarys would flip so drastically, but that was so unproven in all of the rest of the many seasons. They did a 180 on her character.
Tyrion was also a really bad hand for Daenarys, if we're honest. He consistently underestimated his brother and especially his sister Cersei - leading to drastic consequences for Daenarys.

"she's my queen", "you are my queen"... the girls: "stop saying that!" XD love that hahaha
yeah, this episode was the one that solidified Daenerys's character. if there was any doubt in anyone's head that she has gone mad, this episode blew that doubt away.
i will always remember the moment when the bells rang, and the focus is on Dany's face, and you can see the anger, the resentment, the struggle, the pain and the madness, all at once. it's huge for the show and for that i will remember it... but i also hate it, as burning the entire city makes close to zero sense.
in an earlier season, Dany saw the vision of the iron throne and something that looks like snow was falling all around the area... now we learned that it wasn't the snow, it was actually ashes! that is kinda cool when you think about it... also, Bran's visions included the dragon's shadow on the roofs of the houses in King's Landing, and we just saw that exact moment. a lot of foreshadowing in the show.
let's go to the final episode! #JusticeForVarys

Well, you two are wearing the right color.
The last few episodes of this season received a lot of hate and low ratings. I think this was because they rushed the season which should have had 10 episodes and not 6. What happened in those episodes was inevitable and was foreshadowed as early as season 2. They needed to ease the audience into it which they didn't do.
The central theme of the series is what power does to people, even the best people. No individual should have a lot of power. The result is always the same, and if you learn anything from history, please learn that.

Just about to watch the reaction, but I dont understand why people didn't like this episode or the last few seasons of the show, I loved it and particularly love the carnage in this episode. Sad the journey is coming to an end but atleast we've started a new one with Breaking Bad. I would love if you watched the first episode of GoT again to finish the show, or a compilation of best and most memorable scenes (which i would gladly create an episode length highlight reel for you to react to if you wanted)
