I enjoy watching all the girls' reactions, but Katie's the only one I'd marry 😋. Hella is a psycho though; I watched her reaction to Jurassic World and am just glad she didn't have any high-powered weaponry to hand.

Was the puppetry based on Gerry Anderson and, in particular, Thunderbirds? I've never seen him acknowledged, but, in spite of being a British show of the 70s that I loved as a young child, Anderson was American and Thunderbirds was about International Rescue, a team of Americans flying various futuristic aircraft from a secret base in a volcano on an island to save the world.

Yes, of which only one (The Pyramids) still exists from Herodotus' original list, before someone starts banging on about a nonsensical 7 modern wonders! 😋

To provide some more context, the shooting occurred when Baldwin was filming the movie "Rust" in 2021. He was handed a loaded gun by the director which was supposed to fire blanks and told to rehearse a scene where he shoots into the camera. Baldwin fired the gun and killed the cinematographer. Baldwin was acquitted of any criminal charges but the director and the armorer on the film were both convicted of manslaughter for giving Baldwin a live gun.

Katie says near the beginning that this movie has dark aspects. Yes, the whole movie makes fun of US foreign policy, which has proven to be destructive pretty much from the Korean War until today.

Nice job ladies. It's a commentary on American foriegn policy and, it's complexity. It's also a commentary on actors and propoganda.

Cute reaction. This movie is a kind of a lot even for Americans. But it's still funny. I think Katie and Ivy make a good combo. Maybe they can watch some light-hearted comedies from Will Ferrell, like Anchorman, Talladega Nights, and Blades of Glory.

EXCELLANT JOB! I think Chi, Hella, and Tien (who watched this in Feb 2024) did this to you girls to initiate you into the Movie Munchies Galaxy of True Stars. Katie and Ivy, you never have to prove your courage again!
Your simultaneous shock, horror, and dying of laughter here is really the best of movie reacting.
And, secretly, I know that the vomiting scene was your favorite (don't worry, we won't tell the others) :)
I think all the Munchies would like Being John Malkovich. Spoiler alert - it's about a puppeteer, and has a "really enjoyable" puppet scene, too. ;)

I saw you two questioning the movie a lot. And as you probably guessed, it’s a criticism of American politics and government.
But surprisingly, the most accurate explanation of who this movie is actually criticizing, are the scenes where they describe the 3 types of “people”.
It sounds irrelevant, because it’s very vulgar and gross. But if you replace each of the 3 vulgar words with part of the spectrum of Americans, it makes sense.
It’s hard to explain without specifying specifically which vulgar part is which, but I don’t know if it’s very appropriate to outline specifically 🤣, so that’s all I’ll say

This film is brought to you but Matt Stone and Trey Parker. They are most famous for their show SOUTH PARK. Katie watched the South Park movie. Those two are known for social and political satire, but I think they do a great job of remaining funny while they do it.
Some South Park episodes are so epic and out there. Woodland Critter Christmas is so wild.
