The Departed Reaction

The Departed Reaction

Comments

Seeing their reactions to the craziness of the last 10 minutes was sooooo hilarious

Andres Spivey

Watched it again tonight. Great movie. So stressful, yet also so completely satisfying. Scorsese opening up with The Stones is just so completely typical 🙂

Duncan

I’m so glad you watched this movie, girls! You’re so fun, it was like getting to see the movie again with beloved friends!

Chris Rouse

This movie isn’t a true story, but it’s based on real people. Jack Nicholson's character is loosely based on Whitey Bulger, a gangster who was an informant for the FBI, usually informing on his competition. Regarding Mark Wahlberg/Dignam, he likely got the evidence from Vera Farmiga/Psychiatrist via Leonardo DiCaprio/Billy, but he wasn't the type to arrest Matt Damon/Colin, who basically killed Martin Sheen/Queenan. He was the kind of guy who would break into your home and wait for you while wearing gloves and foot covers. Another note: Mark Wahlberg/Dignam had resigned, so he wasn't a cop anymore. But yes, he could have turned that in to get him arrested, but what's the fun in that?🍿😄📺

RichieBIV

No...Michael Douglas plays Hank Pym. You are mistaken.

Marc Rkatek

You've also seen movies with Martin Sheen, Captain Queenan, is Hank Pym from Ant Man and Captain Willard in Apocalypse Now. Amazingly this the first Mark Wahlberg I've seen y'all react to, but he also is a big movie star. Obligatory requests for Passion of the Christ(directed by Mel Gibson), Interview with a Vampire(stars Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise), and Wedding Crashers.

Glad you got the time to watching one of my favorite movies from the first decade of the 2000s. It's fun watching for the reactions when you know what's coming. Great job! Recommendation: Road to Perdition (2002). Doesn't get much attention these days but I think it's worth you all seeing it.

Ryan92280

This movie is a remake from the HK movie 'Infernal affairs' starring Andy Lau and Tony Leung. If you liked that movie, you may be interested in watching 'Infernal affairs' and IA got a part 2 and a part 3, one is a sequel to IA, the other is a prequel. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0338564/

My favorite crime movie!

Cornelius P. Stranglefart, Attorney at Law D.D.S.

Dignam was there because she gave him the letter from Bill.

Jeremy Sparks

Film suggestion: Black Swan

Good job ladies! I think you are movie experts now. I'm glad that you recognized many of the actors. You've also seen Mark Wahlberg in Ted and Martin Sheen in Apocalypse Now. (Don't ask about Alec Baldwin). I recommend "Once Upon A Time In Hollywood". It has Leo Decaprio and Brad Pitt and is directed by Tarantino. It's a movie about making movies in the 1960s. I think you would find it interesting.

Grumpy Monk

There’s so much going on in this movie. It’s so much better than how I remembered it 🙂 I’ll have to leave a full comment on what I think about this movie. Thanks, Munchies! (Hella’s unintentional comedic reactions were hilarious as always).

Duncan

really appreciated your insights in the conclusion, Hela

Michael Fredrick Malone

Americans being Irish always feels a bit ‘cringe’, for me. Not a bad tune though. [edit] Cosplay. Irish cosplay. That’s what it is. Shamrock sticker and a green hat, pint of Guinness even though one don’t like it. Etc. ❤️

Duncan

The Departed is a remake.

Fff

Boondock Saints movie is another good movie

Jay Wolfe

For me, Mark Wahlberg is inextricably linked to his '90s rap alias, Marky Mark. https://youtu.be/yDitzatrWyA?si=Wgc3zYibFAbu5X-f The '90s were a wierd time. A time that Mark Wahlberg would probably prefer to forget.😂

Great movie but I don't like the ending. It shows again how a small plot twist can change everything. I think Colin wanted to break out of his role. If Billy had stayed in the office and pretended he hadn't seen the envelope, he would have regained his identity and gone on his way. Things only escalated when he disappeared and Colin knew that he had seen through him. Of course it's easier said than done, Billy had every reason to distrust Colin and so it all took its course. But I still can't shake the thought that Colin wanted to leave his real life behind in the end and make his cover his real life. By the way, the movie you saw with Jack Nicholson was The Shining. I would like to take this opportunity to mention again that we haven't had any horror movie reactions in a long time. Maybe it's time for a bit of scary stuff again. The American versions of The Ring (2002) and The Grudge (2004) would be perfect for that.😅 That was an awesome reaction, ladies, as always!💜 Happy Easter everyone!🥚🐰🙂

Proto Type

Pretty girl, but she struggles to express herself in English. No harm in keeping her though, worst case scenario is just Chi and Hella as usual

CrashTestWalrus

I gotta be honest. I don’t think that Ivy makes a great addition. “Yeah” “Okay” “Wow”

Joe Laster

Another great undercover cop movie is "Donnie Brasco" with Johnny Depp and Al Pacino. You guys'll love it! Also, based on a true story.

David Collins

Its Dignam who was the second in command and who knew about Leo's undercover identity killed Matt Damon's character in the end. Plus it was a revenge for his boss who was thrown off the roof.

Snick

Great movie for sure. Now that you've seen this movie and the ending, you can talk for hours about what the ending means exactly.

Brandon

SO GOOD lmao! I KNEW BILLYS DEATH WOULD BE TOUGH

tullius cicero

THANK YOU! (I got no hate for someone sayin' that whatsoever...)

Chris Carman

I second this! A great comedy drama with Helen Hunt from Twister. And Jack Nicholson! As Good As It Gets (1997)

Daryl

It's called the Departed. It's about the deceased, girls 🤣

Daryl

Vera Farmiga plays the Therapist and girlfriend to both main characters :) She has really become a horror movie icon. You should definitely watch ORPHAN and THE CONJURING.

Steven Roy

Yup. I love how Martin Scorsese is so similar to Shakespeare in terms of tragedies.

Dajefe70

I hate to say this but I think it's time for you girls to watch "Boogie Nights" with Mark Wahlberg

Jay Wolfe

Wow I have to thank you girls for motivating me to watch this movie because it was amazing! Loved seeing your reaction as well

mundanelotus

Somehow I always heard of this movie but never seen it. Just hope I don't get too distracted cause you girls look sooo good like always, gonna be tough! :)

W

Leonardo deserved a Oscar for this lol Katie would’ve liked this one

Nova

Another great Jack Nicholson movie is 'As Good as It Gets' (1997)

S M

lmao em looks so confused... "this movie is .. what?" "yáll are into this?" "you both got ... THAT from... THIS story??" hahahahahah

Thalanoth

Dignam shoots Sullivan and avenging both Queenan and Costigan

Johnny Sondergard

I really love this film, but every time I see Mark Wahlberg I can't help but think where is TED.

Steven Roy

Total different movie but so nice to see Ivy back again, another beautiful friend inside and out 💛 Welcome to the very best site on the internet and have fun and enjoy. Yes there is a lot of truth happening here. Not in just the bigger cities of Boston and New York but even the much smaller ones in between was pretty freaking crazy back in the day !!! Great acting all around

Tony P.

This movie is great. One of the best cop/crime movies out there, in my opinion. Scorsese finally got his Oscar for this film. Leo would have to wait another few years though. 😁 The twist with the elevator scene was fantastic but heart-wrenching. That scene shocked everyone who saw this. Ivy, I understand your frustration at the end, but at least Colin got what he was due, and I am glad that it was Dingham who take care of it. Retribution for his boss, at least. Unfortunately, there is a lot of corruption in police departments and other law enforcement agencies. While this movie is fiction, there are some elements of truth to it.

"We grew up tuhgethah" ☘️

Ty and Leona

Essential Scorsese. Seeing it in the theater was great.

Chris Carman

One of the best movies about "carps" and robbers!

Prof. Writhms

Heat and Collateral (2004) go well together.

Manospondylus

A classic Easter movie lol. Good choice, I look forward to it.

Grumpy Monk

Great choice.

lee eames

Great flick! Love me some Bostonian English!

Ty and Leona

Does Scorcese put "It's just a Shot Away" by the Stones in every movie? Lol

Alex Anderson

I am once again here to humbly request Heat (1995) Al Pacino and Robert De Niro. Action, Crime and Drama. Sorry for being impatient I just really love that movie. Nice to see Ivy is back.

matthew

A much needed sequel.

Manospondylus

look out for the Trump era sequel "The Deported"
