Forrest Gump Reaction

katie your one of my favorite on here you and chi and hella

chadhenson

You should watch the movie "Heaven and Earth". It's about a Vietnamese Woman's struggle within the Vietnam War. I'm anxious to see your ladie's reaction to this War Classic. Stars Tommy Lee Jones and Lei Thi Hiep. Get the Popcorn and Tissue.

Preston Phillips

Absolutely, would love more solo reactions..

watzizname

Thanks for reacting to this! Whether you guys are together to watch the movie, or if you're by yourself, it's all awesome!

Beau Tanner

That makes more sense. I misunderstood Prof. Writhes. Cheers bud.

cordel corothers

Oh, Katie should have to react to the BORAT films.

Steven Roy

I wouldn't overthink it too much. I don't think much will change, except that we'll get a solo reaction from Katie every now and then. Whether it's an additional reaction during the week (like this week) or a replacement for regular reactions doesn't matter. The ladies will make sure that everyone gets their money's worth.

Digitalversager

You misunderstand me. I meant for them to react to movies they haven't seen-- in groups. There are thousands of movies they all haven't seen yet, as opposed to repeating movies on the channel specifically for Katie. Now, if they post the same amount of group reactions plus Katie's, that's fine. But I don't think that will be the case. My main reason for joining was because I like their group reactions. Now it appears we will get less of that. Though if Katie started her own channel to rerun movies the others have seen, I would be the first to join. Could this be a set-up for that? Hmm... 🤔

Prof. Writhms

The Terminal would be great!

Daryl

Why force the others to rewatch movies they’ve already seen? Thankfully, almost everyone else understood what was happening here. Glad you shared your critique, I’m also glad you’re in the minority, that way they can continue to let any of the reactors experience movies they haven’t already.

cordel corothers

Good job Katie. You can watch whatever you want. I was hoping y'all would get to The Godfather and Ocean's Eleven.

Grumpy Monk

The one in the movie is the Viet Cong flag. I have one my father brought back from the war along with a Chinese made pistol from captured equipment(shoots pretty good btw). The flag for the south was yellow background with horizontal red lines.

Manospondylus

no, its teh flagg of the republic of south vietnam, so the one the US was fighting with, not agaisnt (edit: technically the provisional revolutionary government. obviously long since defunct now

Someone

Should watch Men of Honor

Satoru

Katie I will probably watch anything you upload, but I think comedy movies should be at least 2 people reacting because I think it's funnier that way.

SpunToTheLeft

Agreed! Maybe she can catch up to the films she didn't react to that Chi and Hella watched!

Daryl

Beautiful review and reaction, Katie. A very emotional ride. You should definitely check out another Tom Hanks film called: The Green Mile. These solo reactions definitely do make you more immersed and focused in the film.

Daryl

love ❤️

Sarah Zablowski

I can't really decide yet if I want more of Katie doing her own reactions to movies/shows that others have seen. I think you need to do more of these so we can get a better idea. In fact, everyone who's part of the Munchies should do the same inbetween the collaborations. ... What? I'm fishing for more content? Psh... naw... Love the reaction, even though most of the political moments weren't understood. I'm glad you saw a glimpse of the anti-war protests that were going on in USA during that time. You're right, there's a lot of relatable moments in this movie. I can pick out quite a few, myself. One good lesson to take is that Forrest kept living his life after Jenny ran off. Instead of being sad and chasing her, he did something productive, even if it was just running. Next time I'm in Vietnam, I might try that running thing out. See if people start following, hahah. Is that how all the Vietnam marathons get started?

Frozen Yak

when Lt Dan comes in with his new legs and genuine happiness. that part kicks my ass emotionally

Stefan Williams

You nailed it Katie, as others have said you're a natural! Though there are more movies I'd like the Munchies team to watch I am more than happy to watch more solo reactions, I'll let the fans here pick more classics to request.

Patrick

I think the girls saw Casablanca without you, so maybe you could do that one next. And also...maybe...while nobody's looking... you could watch The Godfather, or Rocky, or any of the Coen Brothers movies. And then you could tell them about it! Keep on rockin

tommylegless

Great reaction Katie, if you ladies would like a funny Tom Hanks movie try The Money Pit.

JOHN SHOOK

Katie, you did great! I'll support whatever you ladies do, but I would love to see Katie -or any lone Munchie- watch different and new movies from what's been done before.

Steven Roy

Oh the flag by the toilet at 45:13 is the Viet Cong flag.

Manospondylus

FINALLY, a patreaon where the people know good movies and not slashers and .......... CARTOONS. 👈😣

Mark W

Great reaction Katie. Despite not being from America, you actually caught a lot of the references in this movie. This was a fun watch. I think solo and with Chi and Hella are the way to go. Solo reacting you are able to invest into the movie but Chi and Hella and you are always so funny together.

Looney

One thing that I'm continuously surprised by in watching these movies that include the Vietname/American war is that you ladies don't know what it means when they refer to "Charlie", and since no one seems to have explained it yet, I guess it falls to me: The American soldiers in their radio transmissions referred to the Vietcong as "VC". In the military they don't just say the letters, however, as that could easily be misheard. For example, "VC" when spoken over an often staticy radio could be mistaken for similar sounding words, like "BE". So the military uses a phonetic alphabet where each letter is represented by a word that starts with that letter, so that letters cannot be mistaken for other letters. So in the shorthand "VC" for Vietcong, they wouldn't actually say "VC", they would instead use the phonetic "Victor" for V and "Charlie" for C. In short order the phonetic "Victor Charlie" referring to the VC or Vietcong became shortened to just "Charlie". So in all of these movies depicting the Vietnam/American war, when the Americans refer to "Charlie" they are referring to the Vietcong. Charlie is also a name in English. So when Forrest says in this movie "we were always looking for someone named Charlie" that is a joke. Now that you know what it means when the Americans talk about "Charlie", you will quickly recognize that they use that term to refer to the Vietcong in literally every movie about the Vietnam/American war

Joel Purvis

If you wanted another Tom Hanks movie, The one I think you'd like most is 'The Terminal' (2003)

S M

Excellent job Katie! I almost didn't watch this because I've watched it twice in the last year (with the Munchies and Asian Angels) and I wasn't sure that I wanted to watch this movie for a third time in a year considering that I've watched it so many other times in my life. But I'm glad that I did. I really enjoyed your reaction.

Joel Purvis

This is such a great movie, definitely one of the best movies of all time. It always gets me, no matter how often I watch it, I end up shedding a few tears. The Movie was a big Sensation at the time. CGI in movies was still relatively new. The way the movie put Forest in all the old historical film snippets was really impressive. I once read that the computer animated feather at the beginning alone cost millions. That was a very good debut reaction, you did a great job. A few movie recommendations that I would like to see a reaction to from you. The Green Mile The Shawshank Redemption Cast Away (maybe with Hella) John Wick The Matrix Constantine Terminator 1 - 2 Hereditary (maybe also with Hella, it's probably one of the best horror movies of recent years) So that should be enough for now.😅 Thank you for the wonderful reaction and it was a nice surprise.💜

Digitalversager

I think you and Hella should react to Princess Bride. You can react to Terminator movies alone which the girls have already seen. I don't mind you reacting alone to great movies Chi and Hella have seen already but much prefer a group reaction.

Milvo

More Katie, wonderful :D ... perhaps The Princess Bride with Hella ?

JessDMorgan

As always, it's a pleasure to see you react to a movie. In my opinion, it's generally better to do it in pairs.

Armarbu

this is so cool please revisit more movies

matthew

oh Princess Bride plz plz plz !!

JessDMorgan

What?! More Katie?! Yes please!!😁 I recommend more comedies because I love to hear your laugh. It makes my day. Plus you've had enough sad movies recently. Bring on the laughter! I have rewatched some of the comdies on this channel many times because of the laughter and the joy it bring me watching all of you enjoying these movies!

Jeffrey Roberts

Definitely watching this, omggggggg

Daryl

I politely stated my preference. I wasn't disrespectful. They are grown women. They can handle a little critique. They don't need you to come to their defense. So you "chill out".

Prof. Writhms

The others have seen the movie. She hasn’t. This isn’t a “break-up”. Chill out dude.

cordel corothers

This was great, thanks Katie. Yes we would love to see you watch the other films you missed.

Dave P

The ladies are better in a group. Please don't break-up the Munchies. ☹️

Prof. Writhms

Gump joined the Army in 1966 which lines up with "Project 100,000". That was a program to recruit men with low IQs. One of its nicknames was "McNamara's Morons" and a lot of them ended up as infantry in Vietnam but being very low IQ the causality rate was high in combat. Very messed up to send a mentally impaired dude into a gunfight.

Manospondylus

solo re-up on Gump? Ah shhhii here we go again =p
