The wind blew in from the East! This whole movie nodded to Eastern philosophy. The one who reacted with the words Ying&Yang was spot on. Mary was like the Buddhist Master and Burt like the monk.

I don't think Hela should watch anything made by David Lynch. Even I was disturbed by Mulholland Drive and nothing in Game of Thrones bothered me much at all.

If you want to check out something funny about this movie, look up "scary Mary" on youtube and watch a clip of this as a horror movie. It's hilarious.

First time I've ever seen that film. Great reaction and entertaining as always, but damn that movie is boring as hell.

It's too bad the video stopped before the credits, as it shows that Old Mr. Dawes was also played by Dick Van Dyke (who played Bert).

Bedknobs and Broomsticks was largely created by the same team behind Mary Poppins, featuring the same director, Robert Stevenson, the same songwriters, the Sherman Brothers, and the same choreographers, Marc Breaux and Dee Dee Wood. If you’re looking for a similar movie with a comparable charm and style, it’s definitely one to add to your watchlist.

I'd love to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Bednobs and Broomsticks they are two classic movies of a very similar style.

Singing in the rain is old but good, I like Grease or the greatest showmen. If you want to try other musicals.

[Mrs. Banks tries to tell Mr. Banks the children are missing during Mr. Banks's song]
Hella: "You have to sing to make him listen!"
That made me laugh so hard. 😂 GENIUS! (Hella should write a rulebook for characters in musicals.)

Most definitely! I've always loved that one especially. Just not the horrible restored edition. They didn't even try to match the original voices.

Katie's face during the cat joke. 🤣 That's the best reaction to that I have ever seen. The whole video was brilliant, especially when someone was enchanted by a musical number.
Also, tuppence is two pence or two pennies.

Since you seem to be watching a few classic musicals, here are some recommendations for more great musicals;
SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN (1952) (Some incredible dancing in this)
MY FAIR LADY (1964) (This has a similar vibe to films like Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music)
FIDDLER ON THE ROOF (1971) (My personal favorite musical)
THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW (1975) (A silly, campy, sexy horror rock musical, there is nothing like this movie)
THE BLUES BROTHERS (1980) (Classic Comedy showcasing some of the best blues and soul musicians to ever live)
LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS (1986) (A sci-fi comedy musical, There are two endings to this movie but both endings are good, maybe watch the other ending on youtube afterwards and decide on your favorite?)
THE PRINCE OF EGYPT (1998) (Epic biblical animated musical)
CHICAGO (2002)
TENACIOUS D IN THE PICK OF DESTINY (2006) (Very silly rock musical)
HAIRSPRAY (2007)
ROCKETMAN (2019) (A biopic about the musician Elton John, lots of great musical sequences)
BETTER MAN (2024) (Honestly this film just came out but it’ll be out on streaming before you know it, it’s about a real life British pop star named Robbie Williams except he is portrayed by a CGI monkey, it’s bananas)
And also the great American director David Lynch passed away yesterday, you may not know him but he was greatly influential and made films unlike anyone else, maybe in tribute you could react to one of his films, I recommend THE ELEPHANT MAN (1980) as it is his most normal film perhaps and it is a very touching and affecting true story, if you want the full Lynch experience I recommend MULHOLLAND DRIVE (2001) as that is I think his best film, however do not expect this film to be like anything else you’ve seen, think of it as a dream and don’t try too hard to understand it, honestly it would make a great reaction, anyway thank you again ladies, i’m halfway through the Mary Poppins reaction and loving it!

There's a truly fantastic video on youtube of them recreating the prism used to create the 3d color effects for Mary Poppins. In the modern age of high definition framing it is mind boggling to see what sort of analog solutions they came up with that our digital age can't reproduce lol

After The Sound of Music with Julie Andrews was curious to see if you react to this. She filmed this before she even started filming Sound of Music. When she was filming Sound of Music on set with the children she sang to them Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious which they had never heard yet because Mary Poppins movie had not been released yet.

Oh, beautiful! Munchies are just racking up my weekend viewings. Not sure if there’s going to be time!
A classic movie where Dick Van Dyke proves his Cockney credentials by affecting an incredible Australian accent. Well done, Dick! 😂
Munchies might want to do ‘Oliver!’, next if this is the way it’s going (I’ll have even more to catch up on).
Thanks Munchies 🙂👏🏻

You ladies have picked some very fun old movies lately that I haven't seen since I was a kid! Thank you. Really looking forward to this one. If you are going to continue with classic musicals I would suggest My Fair Lady. You may find it especially interesting since English isn't your first language as the plot revolves around how different types of English accents identify your class distinction, something that is very ingrained in British culture.
