2024-12-24 20:17:49 +0000 UTCI only watched this recently myself, not being a fan of Christmas films. I find the time of year quite the opposite of what is advertised and altogether depressing. However, I found this film to tackle the sensitive topic which is a reality for so many brilliantly. The fact that it's so old only adds to that. James Stewart was suffering from PTSD after coming back from WW2 which impacted his performance in this, and only made it much more real. I'm glad you chose the B&W version of this, I think the colour one also has its merits but there's something about the original. You are correct as well with these old films portraying romance that is lost in media today. Overall a great film, great reaction, and happy holidays :)

At the end I felt like Hella, I cried my eyes out.😭 I like the message that the movie has. A little kindness can change the world and we should enjoy and appreciate the simple things in life. We tend to take films like these for granted so it's wonderfully refreshing to see the emotional beats hit as they are supposed to. Hopefully next year we can get a video for White Christmas! It has some issues by today's standards but it's another great Christmas film with heart.

It is now extremely popular and is rewatched by millions every year. I played Mr. Potter in a stage production of this show and everyone hated me! LOL. I also met the woman who played Zuzu about 4 years ago at an event here in Denver, Colorado. Favorite part of this reaction has to be Hella screaming "You Bitch," at Mr. Potter. I literally laughed out loud at that. Thanks for another great reaction!
