Truly strange even to this day you consider the US an enemy and even worst you think we lost In Vietnam, 1st the US was an ally trying to make Vietnam as developed as Japan & South Korea, 2nd the US didn't lose, we beat the NV In all battles, even In the Tet Offensive, in fact we beat them so badly and sent so many body bags home the NV begged for forgiveness, and later Invaded the South Vietnam after we left. Crazy you still think you are better off Instead of being an US ally

10. Dr. Manhattan Is not controlling time, he's using his Telekinesis to move objects. Lol that's not a Soviet map, that's the map of America. Zack Snyder is a excellent director. You already seen a few of his movies. 300, Batman Vs Superman. Being a movie critic, keep an eye on who the director is and producers to know there works. Perhaps looking into some other movies they made. Another super hero movie that kind of like this Is Kick-ass. Very good. However very good reaction. Look forward to more uploads.

Saints_Madness

If you have not seen it you should check out the show The Boys it is also about superheros in from a dark perspective. It is graphic kind of like Game of Thrones but is might be worth a look.

Then maybe they shouldn’t comment at all until they learn the truth. Although I doubt that their university professors would tell them the truth for fear of going to prison.

It was Vietnam lol

Manospondylus

As an American that has never traveled to Vietnam, one of the reasons that I was most excited about subscribing to this channel was to hear these young women's honest reaction, as Vietnamese citizens, to how the Vietnam war is portrayed in western media. Regardless of whether you are factually correct, I find it very disappointing that the hostile tone of this and several other posts on movies that touch on the Vietnam war has made these young women mostly avoid sharing their true feelings about it. I personally think that is a great loss, to not be able to hear their perspective out of concern that they will upset their American audience.

Joel Purvis

the Manhattan Project was the US developing nuclear weapons. That's why Dr. Manhattan would make our enemies feel a way.

Who Watches the Watchmen? (Movie Munchies does)

Evilsponge

It's classic deontology (Rorschach) vs ethical utilitarianism (Ozymandias). I also think Rorschach ultimately had the stronger ethics, but it's complicated. And let's not forget that Rorsach's journal was found in the end.

The most significant Zach Snyder movie you haven't seen yet is Sucker Punch (2011). It was not well received by critics. But it is visually dramatic and it will get Youtube clicks. That song "The Sound of Silence" is by Simon & Garfunkel. It was written long, long before this movie was made.

Some men just want to watch the world burn

Paul De'Armond

Chi "we only come to vietnam to help". What is so funny about that? Read some history instead of regurgitating the lies of the communist pigs. The south Vietnamese government DID ask for our help to keep the communist trash north from invading. The north were the invaders, not the US.

Hi there Munchies, great reaction, fantastic Movie- my suggestions: Star Wars: The caravan of courage and the battle for Endor. Thanks, Happy Halloween.

This movie really does a good job showing the two primary competing world views, which have always been in conflict. So it’s interesting to see which side people support when watching this movie. Personally as Team Rorschach myself, it was nice to see the ladies have the same concerns about about the peace built on lies.

fan

Wrong! I’m team Rorschach!

This movie has a really good cast, a great art style and a killer soundtrack, but I still can't get on board with the cynical message. The smartest man in the world and a being with god-like abilities and they can't create more than a peace built on corpses and lies. Spok put it right, the well-being of a few or one is just as important as the well-being of many. One could even argue that without Adrian's intervention and his plan, there would never have been a nuclear war. In any case, a peace without humanity changing is bound to fail. Anyway, enough naive chatter about a comic book story.😅 Chi has great taste in music. The Simon and Garfunkel version of The Sound of Silence is an unbeatable classic. But in recent years I've also come to appreciate the cover from Disturbed more and more. As always, it was a great reaction ladies.💜

Digitalversager

I'm glad you gave this movie a chance. I love your reactions because I genuinely enjoy hearing what you girls have on your mind. Thanks 😊

Francisco

I feel like the girls don't understand that the choice was either everyone on earth dies or a million die. The right choice was made.

Paul De'Armond

It was interesting watching it in 240p 🤣

The movie is based on a graphic novel by Alan Moore. Alan Moore's work is very political. The phrase "Who Watches the Watchmen" is an iconic phrase from the graphic novel asking the question: When you have people who are given the exclusive power to use violence, who then can hold them accountable? The Watchmen are an allegory for government tools of violence like the police and the military. To the world they are paraded as heroes, but in reality many of them are very broken and violent people who are protected from consequences by their status. PS: To be clear the Vietnam war portions were intentionally critical of the USA, there was no intention to glorify the US actions there. In fact that part of the story is about what would happen if the US had access to even more horrifying military power in the form of Dr Manhattan. Similarly the line "The United States Does Not Start Fights" was intended to be a parody of how self righteous the US foreign policy is, and I laughed out loud at your response to it.

Anna Kyruin

About the “Americans always being up top and more powerful” it wasn’t to say America was better, it was actually mocking Americans who behave that way. The film also I think does a good job as showing how when taken to the extreme it can be a bad thing, such as when the comedian murdered the Vietnamese woman.

fan

I think they are too kind & sweet to be sufficiently violent for watchwomen.

Hello Munchies. The song Chi liked in this movie is THE SOUND OF SILENCE by Simon and Garfunkel and was written in 1964. If you like that song, you might also like BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER by the same two guys. When I was in college, two graphic novels were very popular: WATCHMEN by Alan Moore and SANDMAN by Neil Gaiman. It's been a while since I read Watchmen, but I think this movie is very different and kind of misses the point of the source material. Alan Moore really saw vigilantes as an infantile fantasy and his book the Watchmen was a critique on punching your way into a better world. The film and the graphic novel do have a similar ending. Both are kind of the TROLLEY PROBLEM on a very large scale. Since Watchmen, there have been a few other stories that take a more realistic view of super heroes. THE BOYS, also based on a comic, ponders what if people were given super hero powers, but had typical or less than typical morals and also mixes in some corporate greed. This show has one of the best bad-guys ever. INVICIBLE, again based on a comic, is an animation that takes the heroes from the DC Universe and twist them to tell an entirely different and much more brutal story. It's really good. I really love both of these shows.

Simon & Garfunkel recorded "The Sound of Silence" in 1965 !

Gregory A Mann

"Oh, it's better". wait wait wait, you girls just accepted watching it in bad quality?? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Daryl

Desire is a trap. Lustful desire makes pigs of people, and slaves of pigs. One single word makes possible all civilisation. It’s a small word, a magic word, yet it transforms, frees everyone. You must whisper it to yourself. The word is – no.

Imperial Mort

Did you ladies notice who our 51st state was in this movie? Lol

Manospondylus

Resolution is really low for me, is it always that way in the beginning?

Connor

720p? :(

Manospondylus

this movie is really hard to follow, it wasn't put together very well to be honest. But once I understood what was happening I liked the movie.

King Bob

Aw, Chi has great taste in music! Love that

Dylan Hamilton

The song at the funeral is "The Sound of Silence" by Simon & Garfunkel, this "electric version" version being released in 1965. It's been in countless movies and shows, as it's a very iconic song. Simon and Garfunkel are a great duo with a lot of great songs.

Brandon

You ladies should form your own group, the Watchwomen. There are five of you now. All of you have superpowers.

Noal McInnis

Well this is a surprise. A welcome one though. I haven’t seen this movie myself, however I have heard about it.
