I sometimes get frustrated that they miss a lot of details, but have to remind myself that this is their first time watching it. Also, as english is not their native language, I understand they miss some of the details. But I was still surprised that there was no reaction to the reveal of Legolas, or the fact that Gloin talked about his son Gimli.

They are the Black Riders from the Lord of The Rings. Galadriel talks aboujt how they were locked away forever. But now they have escaped. Gandalf says evil has return and that evil is Sauron. Sauron released all the black riders because they are his servants. While the Hobbit is its own tale about the Dwarves reclaiming their homeland. The events taking place is also setting up the Lord of The Rings years later.

The word you were looking for was Necromancer, which literally means Death-magic/prophecy, but has come to mean anyone doing black magic or evil sorcery. Tauriel -The Lady Elf - is played by the actress Evangeline Lily. She got very famous by being in an American TV show called Lost. The Elf King/King Thranduil is played by Lee Pace. He's been in a lot of movies and TV shows and in real life he is very tall, 196 cm. Smaug is voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch who is a famous British actor, probably most famous for being Doctor Strange in the Marvel movies. He also played Sherlock Holmes and his costar in that show was the same actor who plays Bilbo in this movie.
