The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King Reaction part 2

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King Reaction part 2

Comments

Almost everytime i see Hella cry it makes me cry too, but like Gandalf said "not all tears are an evil."

Snusgrop

I am so glad you watched the full extended versions. Thank you for your reaction! This movie and the books inspire me to be a better person in my life and to face evil with courage and to keep hope alive in my heart. Good will win even if it seems impossible. That is the power of God.

Collin Thompson

Don't worry, Sam in the end goes into the Undying lands to be reunited with Frodo. Merry and Pippin (Pippin marries the girl he smiles at) are buried beside Aragorn, and Legolas and Gimli sail into the Undying Lands together. Faramir and Eowyn marry, Eomer becomes king of Rohan, and Arwen dies peacefully with her son ruling in prosperity. Happy Endings all around. And so I ask heart in hand: "Hero" By Jet Li or "House of Flying Daggers" or both! I truly would love to see your reactions.

Kynan Ono

As always, I enjoyed the reactions, but I think would have enjoyed the movies more, if they were half as long. They were good candidates for the edited versions on YouTube.

Dav Cald

Hela is adorable

Cro2

i watch reaction videos to movies now for 6 or 7 years. this is the best LotRs i have ever seen so far. Thank you both very much :)

JessDMorgan

He didn't struggle to give the ring back, he hesitated knowing what it had turned frodo into.

CRAZEH247

I always think of Gandalf talking about Gollum in the first movie. Frodo said it was a pity that Bilbo didn't kill him when he had a chance, and Gandalf said that Gollum still had a role to play, for good or for ill (or something like that). Without Gollum, they would have failed in that final moment when Frodo took the ring. Gollum's final attack is what saved the world, and had they killed him earlier, Frodo would have taken the ring, been captured by the wraiths and Sauron and that would cover the world in darkness. And obviously, Gollum also helped them get into Mordor, which would be very hard without him. It's so interesting that the villain, Gollum, is vital for the quest to be completed successfully. I loved your reactions, even though Hella's tears make me cry as well more than I dare admit.

“How do you pick up the threads of an old life? How do you go on, when in your heart you begin to understand... there is no going back? There are some things that time cannot mend. Some hurts that go too deep, that have taken hold” I like to think Tolkien was talking about his own trauma from WW1 when he wrote that

Evilsponge

you bow to no one i still cry every time

Jeremy McCabe

Some are disappointed by it when contrasting it to the earlier trilogy of films, and of course others find it just as engaging/entertaining... as the ladies likely will. But because we'll see their reactions this time all of us should find it worthwhile & enjoyable to watch this trilogy again with them.

S_Vive

The Hobbit is a great trilogy also. In fact, The Hobbit book was written before TLoTR. I suggest reading the books because almost all modern day fantasy stories borrow from the wonderful world Tolkien created in his middle-earth books; it take a while to get used to his writting but it is well worth the time.

K

This is the best trilogy, and the best fantasy films ever. I don't think that they will ever be topped. Great acting, costumes, sets, and everything.

Chrono Gamer

the reason for Frodo having to leave the Shire and Middle Earth is because him having ownership of the ring for that amount of time had managed to poison his soul and heart just enough with darkness to where Frodo has become a danger not only to himself but also towards everyone in the Shire...hence Frodo's statement in the beginning we all had set out to save the Shire and we have.... but it has not been saved yet for "me".

Jason Tomerlin

Disagree with you.

Cro2

Unfortunately, it looks like they've already started watching that much-lesser (and inflated) trilogy.

S_Vive

I'm so glad you decided to do this trilogy. If I may offer one piece of advice though....Do not, I repeat DO NOT let nostalgia for this masterpiece tempt you into watching the Hobbit trilogy. You'll be sadly disappointed.

Andy Worthington

Thanks for this. I havent watched these movies for a while, seen a few reactions to it, but always cut up so much that it feels pretty empty. Ive forced everyone i know to watch them along time ago. Seeing them in their entirety along with fresh eyes again really brought back why I loved them so much.

Ryan Alexander

no problem :). you should react to Mad Max Fury road (2015) and Furiosa 2024 (the prequel). You will all have an awesome time. Thanks, keep up the great reactions!

Stefan Williams

Thank you thank you!

Movie Munchies

you guys are very passionate reactors. This patreon and Mr Video are the only patreons i subscribe too. Awesome reactors

Stefan Williams

"Show Your Strength....Really That Easy" Yeah, even the director Peter Jackson didn't like that part, The Witch-king of Angmar, or Lord of the Nazgûl defeated Gandalf and then heard a horn and flew away? lol

King Bob

Great reaction girls........I haven't seen these movies since they were released, pretty emotional in the end scenes, I tear up too Hella, jaja.....I have 2 requests: 1 - Over the Top ( Sylvester Stallone ) and 2 - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves ( Kevin Costner ) Thanks. Good day. EC

Ervin Cortez

I hope yall react to The Hobbit too.

Cornelius P. Stranglefart, Attorney at Law D.D.S.

"All right. 🤷‍♀️ Great love story." 😂 I agree.

Cornelius P. Stranglefart, Attorney at Law D.D.S.

Tolkien's prose in the books was really quite Shakespearean. A quote from Tolkien on Sam: "My 'Sam Gamgee' is indeed a reflection of the English soldier, of the privates and Officer's assistants I knew in the World War 1, and recognized as so far superior to myself." Though I agree that Frodo gets too much hate by some people. He was chosen at the beginning of the film to bear the ring because of his purity. It was a powerful statement by Tolkien to have even the purest creature in middle-earth ultimately corrupted by the power of the ring. The statement being there is a duality of good and evil in every one of us.

I know right ~ I'm learning Chinese, it seemed to fit the sentiment, and was running around in my Imaginarium at the time

Proto Type

Why are you including Chinese in your comment? They are Vietnamese.

Edward Olson

I agree. Sam was the true hero.

Eric Muirhead

For some extra background on how strong Sam is for resisting the Ring, here's a quote from the book, "Already the Ring tempted him, gnawing at his will and reason. Wild fantasies arose in his mind; and he saw Samwise the Strong, Hero of the Age, striding with a flaming sword across the darkened land, and armies flocking to his call as he marched to the overthrow of Barad-dur. And then all the clouds rolled away, and the white sun shone, and at his command the vale of Gorgoroth became a garden of flowers and trees and brought forth fruit. He had only to put on the Ring and claim it for his own, and all this could be. In that hour of trial it was his love of his master that helped most to hold him firm; but also deep down in him lived still unconquered his plain hobbit-sense: he knew in the core of his heart that he was not large enough to bear such a burden"

vexyis

Thank you for all these great reactions

matthew

I appreciate your sympathy for Frodo at the end. Everyone calls Sam the hero of the story, and for good reason. I don't want to take anything away from Sam, he is truly amazing. But I always get sad when people don't understand Frodo. He was carrying the ring for the whole journey and he was still able to keep going. Even Sam struggled to give the ring back to Frodo, which shows how strong Frodo's will and how good his heart was to resist it for so long. Both of them are incredible.

Nemo

Re-watching these movies with your reaction, gives me an entirely new perspective. And I agree, Sam was actually the true hero 加油加油 !!!

Proto Type

In the books, Saruman died at the end of the third. He was involved with some greedy Hobbits and bad humans taking control of the Shire (which Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippin took care of -- it wasn't included in the movies) and after getting tossed out of the Shire, Grima Wormtongue killed him.

Edward Olson

Bilbo's pity saved the world, you mean. Frodo didn't feel compelled to kill Gollum just because Sam advocated for it. Gollum wasn't at risk from Frodo.

Edward Olson

Greatly enjoyed re-watching the trilogy here!

Brandon

(but definitely try to include subtitles with the video, as the movie has lots of odd early 1990's dialog/expressions.)

S_Vive

So ladies, if you'd like to see a goofy fun movie with the actor that played Samwise (Sean Astin), try to find Encino Man [1992]. As a bonus, it also has Brendan Fraser in it from The Mummy, as well as Ke Huy Quan.

S_Vive

Hella near the end getting pissed at the Ring and yelling at it to "SHUT UP!" was... precious.

S_Vive

Frodo's mercy saved the world. If Frodo had killed Gollum like Sam told him, then the ring would not have been destroyed.

Luke Drumm

Third eagle was for Smeago/Gollum!

Riley

the age of men means magic is waning, especially with the rings destroyed, so elves must leave middle earth respect, given that (basically) all animals are 'Nó' (it) in vietnamese and here gollum always talks about a 'she', Hella was quite fast on the uptake (vertain exceptions can apply for example fo pets sometimes) chi is spot on about the music, it was great and yeah, its tolkien so the 'good' wins in the movie for sure. the best thing is the friendship of sam. I will miss your LotR reactions, happy you still react to GoT even if its pretty much the exact opposite

Someone

This is my favorite movie, i have seen it counless time and yet watching you guys makes it feel like the first time again ❤️

Snusgrop

Incredible story indeed. Peter Jackson and his team did a phenomenal job. If you guys are into this vein of fantasy stories, I would recommend Star Wars! It is also high fantasy, even if it doesn't look the part! Another accurate description is "space opera". If you have already seen it before, there is always something new to notice! Just make sure to watch in in the order it was released. Till next time!

Ash

Always fun to see people react to these movies for the first time ❤️ you guys were great! Alot of things to pay attention to and you guys were keeping up 😀

Aaron

Don't feel too bad about frodo and Sam's ending. Sam becomes the mayor of the shire and has a long happy life with Rosie! When she passes of old age Sam's granted to go to the undying lands (where frodo went) because he bore the ring for that small period after the spider she-lob.

Aaron

Totally awesome reaction. Thanks, Ladies. Lord Denethor’s hatred for Faramir began when Faramir was still an infant. The steward's wife, Finduilas, became ill shortly after Faramir's birth and then died. Denethor blamed his infant son for her death. The loss of his wife took an emotional toll on Denethor from which he never recovered. Something that is not covered in the movies is the Dwarves. Gimli is the only Dwarf in the story. Sauron asked the Dwarves to fight for him but they refused. Sauron then sent his largest army to attack them. The allies Sauron sent were the Easterlings, humans whose ancestors had served the first Dark Lord Morgoth. They were more than happy to support Sauron's plans of conquest, possessing the largest army in the entire war. With more than 200,000 troops, the Easterlings completely overshadowed any army that stood against it. However, that didn't mean the Dwarves wouldn't put up a fight. The battle was bloody for the first three days and saw heavy casualties. Eventually, the Dwarves were forced to retreat into the Lonely Mountain. While the situation seemed grim, the Dwarven stronghold proved almost impossible for the enemy to penetrate. With Sauron sending his largest army to take on the Dwarves, he likely thought the battle would be over swiftly. But the Dwarves kept the Easterlings distracted for the duration of the war, which meant they couldn't return to defend Mordor. That gave Aragorn enough confidence to distract Sauron at the Black Gate and allowed Frodo to enter Mount Doom undetected. Dwarven stubbornness proved too much even for an army of 200,000. The Easterlings failed to break through the Dwarves' defences for the entirety of the War of the Ring — the conflict that served as the primary focus of The Lord of the Rings. Eventually, news spread about the fall of Sauron, and the army was forced to retreat to the East. However, it's said the Easterlings continued to be a problem well after Sauron passed from Middle-earth. I hope you watch The Hobbit Trilogy. It is for a younger audience, but I am sure you will love it.

but best reaction ever <3

Snusgrop

Hella did't cry too much, Chi cried to little

Snusgrop

The girls gave me the best birthday present!! Thank you for releasing this reaction today!!

Without Gollum, the Ring would not have been destroyed and Middle Earth would have sunk into darkness. Gandalf even more or less predicted it. In the first part in Moria, where Frodo said it was a pity that Bilbo didn't kill Gollum, Gandalf tells him that his heart tells him that Gollum still has a role to play, for good or evil, before it all ends. Gandalf, ist such a great character and Ian McKellen brings him to life so wonderfully. So many epic scenes in this movie, my favorite scene is the death of King Théoden, this scene has something poetic about it. The actor who plays Théoden died a few months ago at the beginning of May this year, rest in peace Bernerd Hill. It was once again a pleasure watching the movie with you ladies.💜

Digitalversager

My only regret from these movie adaptations was not getting to actually see the retaking of the Shire. Would have been really amazing for the people who never read the books to see. I fully understand the omission of Tom Bomadil. Never questioned that. Maybe Peter Jackson just didn't think k it would fit unless they showed the Shire get overtaken in the first place. Still, this trilogy is amazing. Wonderful reaction ladies!

Noal McInnis

Samwise Gamgee for the win! I'll say it a hundred times. He is the real MVP of this story. Everyone played a big role in Frodo's success, but no one more than Sam. Frodo was kind of a walking L in these movies, and Sam was always there to somehow turn it into a W. Low key hero of the ring.

Noal McInnis

The way Ringwraiths interact with the world isn't really explained in the movies, would be hard to just have someone like Gandalf or Elrond to dump a heap of info, would be a bit out of place. But Ringwraiths are basically ghosts, Aragorn mentions that in the first movie. Its also mentioned by Saruman in the first movie they are disguised as riders in black because they don't actually have a physical form, without their robes and armour they are formless, would appear invisible and objects and matter just pass through them. Eowyn seems dead to her brother Eomer after the battle because when she stabbed the Witch-King in the face what happened to Frodo when the Witch-King stabbed him on Weather Top in the first movie kind of happens to her. Ringwraiths have this feeling around them that sucks the life out of all around, just being around them fills people with dread and saps their energy. Making contact with the Witch-King drained Eowyn of her life and the same for Merry when he stabbed the knee. It takes the healing hand of the King (Aragorn) to banish the darkness they feel. Also the Witch-King wasn't really killed, you can't kill something thats dead just by stabbing it. In the books Merry's sword was of Numenorean make which made the Witch-King corporeal for an instant so Eowyn had something to stab but that just banished him back to Sauron, after some time, if Frodo hadn't destroyed the ring Sauron could of brought the Witch-King back, like he has done a few times before.

I have a long flight here in 20 minutes and was looking for something to watch. You posted this at the perfect time! Thanks!
