I am so with you regarding Simon this episode and the conversation with Raphael. Not only was he not reading the room even a little bit, but he ignored Raphael telling him now wasn't a good time, MULTIPLE TIMES. There's no way it's actually Jace though right!? like that's so wild!! ๐ซข My favorite parts of this episode were for sure Malec and Maryse's dinner! and I also felt that Clary/Izzy/Jace really had no plan whatsoever for how they were going to take down Jonathan when they believed it hadn't worked the first time?

2023-06-29 23:30:20 +0000 UTCOh, yeah, Raphael is a mess right now and probably not doing the smartest decisions but my heart goes out for him. The scene with Rosa on the bench was just so sad. And however I usually like Simon, his insensitivity towards Raphael reminded me of Clary in the first season (which is a big insult, I know). It felt like "hey, Raphael, you're clearly not ok and on the brink of tears and you're telling me to go away, but I have this immediate problem where I'm actually protected from anyone trying to hurt me, so take a break from your problems and focus on me, please. I know I have refused to help you in the past and even used your little sister against you but hey, I'm me and you're you so help me." I really, really wanted to just slap him. Then we had the pushy doctor who just can't take a hint that Izzy is not interested and Jace being the demon attacking people (you were right, it was Jonathan, just not the one you thought). I can't with this episode :D Even Malec and surprisingly amazing Maryse couldn't lift my mood enough to call this episode a win. But they did help a lot. Everyone is having one crisis or another and those two are just basking in their relationship (can this actually count as the "meeting with the parents"?).
