EP3 Mechanic Poll
Added 2017-05-03 17:30:01 +0000 UTCI want to ask your opinion about the minigame in EP2.
(Please, ignore the buggy start when voting.)
How did you like it? Want more of this?
I want to do some new things with it in Episode 3 at the Party, but only if you guys think it's good.
Just some quick info - I'm working on Alice right now (not in that way :P ) going good. Doing final tweaks and adjustments. You will see her on Friday (along with the new reward tier)
It's a good idea to let designs 'rest' for some time and then get checked again. It gives a somewhat different perspective and I can see if something slipped by me.

2017-05-05 13:06:27 +0000 UTCIn Episode 2 where you can go to different parts of the house and you have to get into Tracy's room and send Marcus some info. That part.

2017-05-05 13:05:59 +0000 UTCWhat do you mean by this minigame? I don't even think that I have seen it at all?
2017-05-05 12:55:13 +0000 UTCNew to game and a patron. I'm impressed with the development of game so far. Looking forward to game progression as it develops. The minigame was a nice and "short" deviation from game. Great job!
2017-05-05 04:08:21 +0000 UTCThank you everyone for the feedback! I think I'll go more in-depth on this topic in Monday's Dev Update from a game-design standpoint. BTW: I don't intend to create a grinding game. I don't want to make the game hard either. No worries :)

2017-05-04 14:28:29 +0000 UTCYes, the point-and-click style minigame

2017-05-04 14:23:15 +0000 UTCThank you guys! It's always good to read comments and fun to interact with the community. Creators like myself or similar 'personalities' should always take some time to interact, I think it's good for both sides :) And my hands still hurt, my desk is way too high and due to this I typed with my wrist at a bad angle. It's better now, I use my phone to post comments, it's a bit easier like this:)

2017-05-04 14:20:48 +0000 UTCYes, that was the goal, to get you thinking. To ask yourself some questions. And the party setting is great for this as you said, with some added functionality it can be even more than just interacting with objects.

2017-05-04 14:15:52 +0000 UTCI got stuck in the dodgy version, however I was enjoying the exploration and finding out stuff that I reckoned was going to be helpful in future scenarios. Is it? Then I got stuck in some sort of weird vortex, played several times and eventually managed to crack an escape to the Library. Then made the mistake of trying to save. I have started the game over again with version "c" I hope the game will bring me to the end of construction. Thanks, I'm enjoying the concept, and thanks for your very imaginative concept and well constructed artwork. Please keep up the entertaining work.

2017-05-04 07:23:33 +0000 UTCI second this; Sin is a consummate professional. Hopefully your hands haven't suffered too much ;(

2017-05-04 02:46:34 +0000 UTCIt seems most agree that this mechanic has its place in the game. Thanks for the support ;)

2017-05-04 02:43:27 +0000 UTCI like it so long as it doesn't fall into the pattern some games fall into where it's trial and error by just repeating actions at different times of the day to see what happens. It needs to be engaging.

2017-05-04 02:40:25 +0000 UTCWhat minigame? The exploration?

2017-05-04 02:35:14 +0000 UTCI agree with McFly. With such a nice mini game, you can gain so much more depth with your story, wich otherwise would have been packed in plain "dull" text with the addation of the problem of when to tell such things. Plus it feels more like a game instead of a graohic novel.
2017-05-03 23:00:02 +0000 UTCNot related but I wanted to say that I really like the way you're responding to pretty much every comments we post, that's a really nice behaviour. By the way, how are your fingers? do they still hurt?
2017-05-03 21:43:13 +0000 UTCI'm sticking to my guns and saying this is a must, as long as it doesn't set you back time wise. So much can be gained by including this mechanic. From going out on the patio to exploring Tracy's room, that set up so much and got a lot of wheels turning. The cigs, scrolls, wine glasses, Tracy's computer, it gets you thinking how is this all connected? Not to mention the mental stimulation is a nice compliment to all the visual eye candy. All this without interacting with a single other character, that's powerful. I don't think this was ever meant to increase difficulty, this isn't an Uncharted puzzle. Also, with the party coming next episode, what better time to expand upon this than now? Parties are usually chaotic, shit laying everywhere. We are going to be in a new environment..... this setting is aching for this mechanic.

2017-05-03 18:21:36 +0000 UTCI am with dutch Pete folling your way oft tell them story and do it what you think is the best for all of us. Minigames are nice but in very Match games she are to heavy or really not nesecitan for the gameplay. Greetings Maikel

2017-05-03 18:19:36 +0000 UTCI don't mind minigames as long as they don't make the game too hard/annoying.

2017-05-03 18:18:28 +0000 UTCMini games are great if they are done with an additive purpose, like the one you did: you evolve the story by introducing new pieces of the overall puzzle when he is looking (two win glasses, cigarette...). It is interesting and advances the story. If you are only doing a mini-game to make the game harder, then not.

2017-05-03 18:13:53 +0000 UTCYeah I didn't like grinding either when I used to play games, I don't wanna make you guys suffer :P

2017-05-03 18:03:51 +0000 UTCI liked the minigame. The more interaction the better.

2017-05-03 17:53:56 +0000 UTCJust do not make the same mistake as Dark Silver by abandoning your original plot and turning the game into a boring grind
