[October Schedule and Questions Answered] What happens after Extreme September?
Added 2022-09-27 03:44:43 +0000 UTCThe most exciting August ever! After the most exciting August ever, the extreme month of September is about to begin...!
But as I was working on it, before I knew it, it was already the end of September...! What a surprise!
And when Extreme September is over Extreme October will start. Oh, scary...
My plan back in May or so was to have a summer vacation around August-September for skill-building and learning, but there was no room for anything like that at all!
I appreciate it very much, but can I slide the summer break into the winter break? And then I reviewed my schedule and it looked like I wouldn't be able to squeeze in a winter break either! HAHAHA!
The second half of the year, compared to the first half of the year, the time margin disappeared like a lie. Extreme Explosion! I'll make it somehow.
I'm planning to update next month with the following themes.
- How to paint skin tone (how to reproduce my skin tone...from a request)
- Review of past works (since there was a request for it)
- Tips for polishing 3D printer output kits (since there were requests)
- Production items (maybe two or three, if I can prepare them)
If the productions are difficult, it may be difficult to update all of them. I will try my best to update as much as I can.

▶ Question. How much time does it take to produce videos and WIP articles in addition to paint assembly?
I replied to this in a comment on the article, but I'll look back on it myself again.
As for the production time, this may be an area of concern for some people.
We certainly count the time for the assembly and painting of the GK, but if we write out a rough estimate including the others, it looks like this. (La+ case)
- Paint assembly 90 hours (re-painting and restoration work not counted, about 10 hours)
- Filming and editing: approx. 20 hours
- Creation of production articles: approx. 10 hours
So, in total, I think I've spent about 130 hours working on the entire series.
In addition to that, I have to reread and correct typos, respond to copyright fraud groups on Youtube (filing objections), etc., so I'd estimate 150 hours at the most....
Translating the submission to patreon is also time-consuming, so it's a lot of work...
For the review part of the video, I started by searching for a song, and then I shot the video while thinking about the composition (introduction, transitions, effects, etc.) on the spot to match the image of the production, to finalize a vague image, and then I edited it. (We use copyright-free music or music that has been licensed for use on Youtube by the copyright holder.)
If I didn't shoot, video, edit, or write articles, I could move on to the next production right away, but that would make me a normal person.... I have to do something out of the ordinary to make it interesting, so I enjoy doing each task in its own way, even if it takes a long time. All by myself, yeah... very very hard work...(´・ω・`)
However, if I try to be lazy, I hear the phrase "No pain, no gain," as a friend of mine used to say when I was a student, so I try to make a schedule so that I can get things done as quickly as possible.
Sometimes I have other work that has nothing to do with figures and I can't work on them, but in those cases I do it in the middle of the night. Thanks to this, I consume a lot of coffee and nutritional drinks. ......!
I would like to throw the video editing work to someone else, but the data volume is too large (about 5TB ......). It is difficult to ask them to do it. Moreover, it is difficult to make enough profit from video submissions to recover the cost of commissioning it. So I have to do it myself.
But that's okay, because it's fun and improves my skills.
Recently, I have had the opportunity to hear people say that they started garage kits based on my videos, or that they began to enjoy garage kits because of my videos, and as a result, they started working as decoration masters for companies!
When you think about it, this is an amazing thing, isn't it? What I was originally doing for myself has now affected other people's lives, for better or worse.
Their efforts are truly commendable !!!
I think there are always a shortage of color painters in the figure industry, so I hope that I am helping, and I look forward to the emergence of an extraordinary high-level color painter.
I would like to improve my skills and introduce new techniques to keep up with their momentum, but looking back at my schedule, it seems that I will be extremely busy for the rest of the year... I am extremely busy and I don't think I will have time to think about it...!!

Glad to hear you say that! Thank you! I, too, am following in the footsteps of my predecessors, so I owe it to the next person to leave a number of tips for them!

2022-09-29 03:32:02 +0000 UTCMy Wife and I consider you to be the best GK assembler and painter in the industry. The fact that you document and share your experience is a huge bonus and you can count us on the list of people that have started our own GK kits. Can't wait to see your growth and improvement!
