Lay of the Land 0.9.0. The Outback Canyons Update Part III

Hey everyone,

The Outback Canyons Update Part 3 is here.

I hope you enjoy the update and thank you all so much for the support :)

You will need to create a new world. Saves created on this version and onwards will be forwards compatible with all future early access versions.

New Procedural Dungeon

There is a new dungeon in the Outback Canyons. The Tomb Ruins. This procedurally generated structure holds many dangers and treasures. Enter if you dare ;)

New Boss Battle

You can find a new boss in the Tomb Ruins. The Banshee. This ancient abomination once trapped in its sarcophagus has been uncovered by the ravages of time. It wields an ancient power once used to wreak havoc across the land.

Improved Quality of Life and Improved Linux Support with Proton

I have also made some quality of life improvements such as holding the interact key to quickly pick up items, scrolling to change hot bar slots and more.

I have also improved Linux compatibility by enabling support for Vulkan. Please see the tutorial below on how to run the game on Linux.

• You can now hold the interact key to quickly pick up items

• Crafting menu is now accessed with the R key by default

• Campfires now drop an item when crafted like any other item instead of being immediately placed. They can also be picked up

• Scroll wheel now changes equipped hot bar slot

• Building preview can now be offset in any direction

• Buffed all cooked foods effect duration to 15 mins

• Vulkan support. Run the game with the -vulkan parameter from a terminal. No ui yet.

• Moved saving indicator to top left corner

• Stone golem will no longer pick up objects that can clip into the ground when it holds them.

• Fireflies no longer spawn in volcano biome

• Added new rotation keybinds

• Added gunpowder barrel crafting recipe

• Added data to world saves to allow for future save forwards compatibility.

• Removed exclusive fullscreen from display options (way too buggy)
