As a herm, these top-athletes combine the advantages of both genders, the endurance of a female comined with the raw strength of a male stallion.
While Equinians are generally accepted as a peaceful and calm race, one of their biggest weaknesses is their overwhelming sex-drive. Their pheromones even effect other races and when in heat, male or female Equinians can easily be distracted by their most basic instincts.
Somehow, herm Equinians have a lot weaker sex-drive, and usually do not fall for any female (or male) pheromones, which keeps then on track during each race.
