giant statues are made to honor the next generation to rule in the family, and Nian's next in line.
sadly, it's tradition to stand still in his macro size for hours every day for a few weeks. it's boring and exhausting, he just falls asleep with his eyes open. he doesn't even notice when the small guys working on the statue falling off the bridge and landing on his hill-sized hips.
