Added 2020-11-20 08:03:35 +0000 UTCI think this is the last image from this set. Very happy that there are 4 keeper images from the 10 shot roll. A typical situation when using film for me, the hit rate is high and I’m not really sure why that is.
They were all shot through a glass window which opened into the room, from both sides. The window wouldn’t stay still so I had to hold it with one hand and the Pentax with the other. Easy to do this with a digital camera but not so with the Pentax, which is definitely a two handed camera. I remember when I first started using the Pentax and had a lot of trouble getting reasonably sharp images. It wasn't a focusing problem but due to the huge vibration of the mirror when it returns after the shutter fires. It's an SLR and so the whole shutter/mirror mechanism is huge - and mechanical. I needed to really perfect my technique in the way I held a camera so that it was solid and stable - took a while to get this right.
Film was XP2, a black and white film which can be processed in c41 solution. I love the blacks that this film gives.
We shot the roll in about 10 - 15 minutes one morning just before we had to check out of the hotel. Lens was of course the 105mm F2.4, which is the widest aperture medium format lens you can buy.
We were supposed to stay another two nights in the place but due to Covid they kicked everyone out!
