10-26-24 Progress Update (Public)

We've been getting a lot of questions lately, so we decided to take this opportunity and make a public post summarizing what we've been up to for the past month.

First of all, we know that all of you are eagerly awaiting the next Park After Dark update. The bad news is that we don't anticipate the next release to be ready until December - though we will of course put it out as early as possible whenever it is finished. The good news is the reason why there has been such a long gap: ever since the release of v0.24, we've been hard at work on a massive story event starring six new girls and fifteen scenes! Patrons voted previously to keep the actual content of this event a surprise, but each week we've been showing neck-down sketches of the new characters and reporting tangible progress numbers in the form of completed tasks from our Trello board:

Writing: 55/114 - This category includes first drafts, editing, and implementation into the game, once all of the artwork is also ready.

Character Art: 32/41 - These are the bust art pieces shown during dialog, as well as tasks to scale and export the art.

Scene Art: 0/15 - The fullscreen NSFW scenes.

Background Art: 0/9 - Location artwork.

Code Implementations: 0/7 - New features and gameplay mechanics, and anything past simple dialog (such as setting up new locations to visit and interact with characters there).

As you can see, the characters are very nearly done, which will unblock the rest of the writing and scene tasks. As always, our cadence is dictated mainly by art, but now that summer is over, output has already picked up significantly. We're all very excited about this event, and we can't wait to show you everything we've been working so hard on!

Second, as we've been unable to continue work on Magixxx Conquest, we've pivoted to start on our third game instead. From the results of our four-year survey back in June, the idea that received the most interest was to parody the Total Drama franchise, so we are now pleased to publicly announce Total Degeneracy Island, a game which takes the quirky characters and already-insane reality TV challenges from the source material and adds plents of new, spicy twists! This game will be structured differently than both of the previous ones, with an emphasis on building and maintaining relationships with all the different characters...after all, you definitely won't want to get voted off this island! The new artist we brought on to work on this game has been doing so extremely diligently, and we hope to have a first release of TDI before the end of the year as well!
