musicals are definitely an acquired taste lol and i’ve never considered myself a musical fan but i am a..tolerater 😭 wicked surprised me tho bc i won’t lie a few songs in i was like “lorddd so it’s a musical musical” but as time passed the storyline really pulled me in and by the third act i was completely invested and am now lovinggg the soundtrack. definitely wanna go for another watch. as always tho, love the honesty. different strokes for different folks. 🤞🏽

Me: listening to the sound track at least 2x a day💀 Idk what it is about wicked but i’ve been obsessed with it. i’ve seen it 3x and i need to get my fix again🤔. i think what engages me the most and adds to the already great story of wicked, is knowing that cynthia is black, it adds to the outcast/scapegoat vibe. As a fan of ariana too, it was so interesting to see her sing in a differnet style (operatic as Galinda) versus her pop style. Both cynthia & ari performed amazingly, and the practical sets made it feel like you were in Oz, 10/10 from me. These types of reactions are why I love your content you are honest 100%, all the time never fail to make me laugh❤️

Lemme tell you as someone who saw Wicked in cinemas 3 times, I LOVED it more and more with every watch, and I completely respect your reaction. In fact, as someone who loved the movie, the song is exactly the way you described it. The movie is EXCELLENT from a visual, costume, production and acting standpoint. The music is cheesy and very showtunes instead of pop. Ariana Grande gives such an impressive comedic performance and hopefully she gets an Oscar nomination. Cynthia too. It's predicted that she will. But yes, I don't think you should see movie because it is 2hrs 30m long and 50 minutes of those are singing. Once the movie comes out online, you should skim through it to see Ariana's comedic timing and the dramatic moments. Anyways, much love :)

I disagree, I think you can preview a portion of most types of entertainment and determine whether it’s for you or not. That’s the whole purpose of watching trailers, and this is why previews are available for digital books you purchase online. Obviously you don’t get the entire scope of what it’s about, but you can make an educated guess about whether you’ll enjoy it or not. The whole theme of this video; the music, the dancing, the mannerisms, the subject matter, the characters, etc. give so much context about what this musical entails. I really enjoyed the movie bc its a prequel to the wizard of oz, but this song was my least favorite out of them all. I definitely had high expectations for this movie (never watched it before, just read The Wizard of Oz and also not the biggest fan of musicals). I was excited to see Ariana, and see Cynthia for the first time! But then, I was so maddd! That movie had no business being that longgg—it was almost 3 hours of nonsense, tbh! Ariana's acting was sooo bad for me—it felt so forced! Her singing wasn’t crazy like that. Like, she went crazy at the start of the movie, then boom! She stopped with the vocals. The songs were not itt, besides like the intro song and the ending. Like, I was sooo over it, and I was tired too—slept for like 30 mins throughout the movie. BUT Cynthia was def thee highlight of the movie. She did her jobbbb! Her acting was amazing, and her vocals? TOP NOTCH. She saved that whole boring movie during the outro for Defying Gravity! Like, she woke me upp, and her vocals gave me a headache from how strong they wereee! Too bad Cynthia had little screen-time compared to Ari. 6/10. Cute visuals, but def beware.

I agree, I don’t really care for musicals, but there were some I grew up on I used to look at a lot with my family like hairspray, grease, etc. I’m just like you Dee what’s the plot and stuff like that.

Honestly I’m not a musical person either, but there are certain ones that I did like growing up like the older Disney ones such as High School Musical, Camp Rock, etc. It definitely has those vibes but outside of the music, the actual story and movie parts are a lot better than those counterparts but the corniness is something that you have to be ok with going in.

I usually don’t like musicals at all. Especially when it’s a song every few minutes but I enjoyed wicked. It gave a good mix Of story and the singing. 💀 still a lil annoying but I say give it a try.

Ive watched Wicked and tbh it's probably better if you watch the movie as a whole so you can get better context. They don't sing the entire time and the story itself is really good. Right now you're essentially just watching a music video of a song that's in the film.

Dee, you should definitely give it a watch if you have a boring night lol, there are musical parts throughout the film, but it’s an actual movie. There are only a handful of songs, spread throughout the film. Definitely think you should give it a try cuz I’m not a musical person either, like at all, but this was a great movie.
