This wasnt my favorite from the girls but i do appreciate how everyone sounds different. However we're in deep need of new topics. But i think latto is far too experienced to be putting product out like this, its a waste of great talent and potential. With that being said i got 3 songs in my library. Overall decent album for whats available these days.

I’m so glad that people are able to come to their senses. There are so many factors that cause us to perceive ideas in so many ways. And getting defensive is dumb. Like I’m the opposite. I’m a fan of Latto, so I was easily able to disregard the ignorance of the quality of what she was saying and appreciate the cohesive, well-written work as a whole. (Because she can rap for real and the word play was pretty good). I’d call the album, “sophisticated ignorance.” 😂😂

Never happens with who? I've complained several times about Drill rappers only rapping about killing people, which is why I don't listen to that genre. Male rappers rap about the same few topics: money, cars, bitches, travel, ops, relationships, sex, death, betrayal, etc. so yeah it's the repetition we expect but female rappers tend to primarily focus on sex 90% of the time....that's the problem. People are always making this a gender issue while ignoring this very obvious difference lol

as a die hard latto fan, i can agree with you. i love the album sonically but i wish she didn't change up the way she was rapping just to match these other rap girl's energy. i miss the old days when my girl would rap about her upbringing and being prideful about how hard she works, but now it just seems like she's trying to fit some sort of blueprint that society has of female rappers. it doesn't feel genuine either, like dee said if somebody who has that gangster girl vibe (say JT, Cardi, etc) had rapped half of these songs they would've hit harder because we know where they come from . But regardless, i still love the album and i'm wishing her success .

I think many people don't want to admit they don't really like mainstream female rap as a genre, quality wise this is better than most. Pretty diverse songs and flows. Also compared to her peers she doesn't recycle to many bars and her melodic performance isn't bad either in my opinion. Tierra Whack and Doechii have more technical skill if you want more options.

in my humble opinion Dee, female rap albums lack quality. even nicki. they are just very very LONG albums with songs that contain the same content. money, p***y, ops and a**. and we may get a cute lil motivational song. and while there are always successful singles associated with these female rappers, they don’t use the singles as a setup for their album, the singles are placeholders. so when i hear songs like HISS, i expected that album to be top tier production, hard hitting bars through and through and i was disappointed. JT hyped up city cinderella, and i rolled my eyes the WHOLE album. Ice Spice is an industry plant with a cult following of kids and has yet to capitalize off of that (i did like a few songs on the album but it was overall trash imo.) pink friday 2 was WAY too long, and lacked a lot. i think Doja Cat is very weird and i ain’t a fan of her as a person, butttt Scarlet is the best rap album of the rap girls right now. insane production, and maybe it’s the pop elements doja infuses that gives that album a crutch, but it’s the better album. now we just wait to see what cardi does. 2024 changed modern day rap for men and women, and with the girls albums, i’ve be DISAPPOINTED. idk dee if you agree or disagree let me know queen. also, drop the skin routine or it’s gon be me and u in the streets.
