20 Meters
Added 2025-07-11 18:00:03 +0000 UTCA personal piece that I have left on the backburner for almost a year. I wanted to finish it up, and I am glad I was able to.
Inspired heavily by one of my favorite artists of all time, specifically this piece they did as a Ponyo poster: Above Below I wanted to use it as a study of colors / technique, a lot of which seem very different from my normal go-tos with art.
It's rare I get the time to study other artist's work or make very personal pieces for myself. The sketch was originally made when I was having some -feelings- so it's honestly a bit thematic to Pride Month even though it's over.
I have one version where I was more comfortable with the color choices, and then a second where I tried to use a much more limited amount. I had a lot of fun weaving in the techniques and color choices of the OG piece such as using a brush with no pressure sensitivity and not getting too lost in shading or highlights.
