Ready for that chromokopia album reaction

Shamya Mckoy

boys post more gang..where the rod wave album at

Kelvin Kamau

I’m

ani aviyah abc

10+ year Tyler fan here. This song is simply about him just being paranoid and not being able to feel relaxed because of fans, relationships, and just being in the limelight period. He’s made a similar song before talking about just wanting to enjoy life in public but felt like he couldn’t cause the fans use to be harassing him. This is just a snippet too btw he has another verse where he elaborates more

Niya James

Man where the yeat reaction?

Tavonte Douglas

How would you know what this man has been with in his personal life/day-to-day? I’ve seen him with those same people AND black women when working, which is what he’s usually sharing lol. I’m not saying believe everything he says bc there’s always room for critique, but you literally cannot say that for fact. If he said so, we can only take his word 😂

K

that nigga has only ever been seen w skinny mixed girls and white boys. as much as i love his music, bro does NOT like black women 😭

Jerome Loyd

Y'all should check out Working On My Karma by Dvsn.

MAKELOVE_NOTDWAR

Would still love for you to react to Doechii’s album

Vera A.

Twins gonna love Sticky lol

JudahOne

Y’all just missed the easiest shit ever. It’s exactly what he’s saying— paranoia. Also, y’all are ASSUMING Tyler’s type when he’s very much said he loves black women. I hate when ya’ll that do shit like this lol.

K

So I'm ignorant cause i have an opinion? Got it😂

ACEDaDon

If you watch all the videos it seems like he don’t fuck with society and is starting his own cult

Badaga Thito

First listen:Very dynamic album with plenty highs, and very well placed features. My only criticism is the realistic replay value for a few tracks (at least for me) but i definitely appreciate the art behind it either way and lowkey Tyler was talkin his shit😭8/10 I’m high off this album so far (which may be attributed to the spliff I smoked while listening)

G4BBN 1

Can’t wait for yall to listen to da album

Cj

No rod wave? No summer? No big x?

Qwez McDaniels

Thing that inspired this song was someone tried stealing something from Tylers porch and Tyler ran out with a strap to chase him away and since then hes been very "paranoid" about fame and allat, at least thats what his cousin said on insta who was there when it happened

Benjamin

With everything considered he’s speaking about how paranoid he is living his famous life under everyone’s magnifying glass and relating it back to where he came from and the paranoia of safety he grew up with

Ryan Roberts

Anybody else notice that love craft country shot when he was driving looking at the rear view mirror.

Tunji ladipo

aye he was talking some shit lowkey

Jordee

I'm a music snob. I ain't mad at you. But tyler is for music snobs lol

ShoryuSengan

I feel you and do think they should give tyler more attention this album release but this some serious glaze

retrograde

Nah you just ignorant

Jeremiah Coleman

Also he’s all about world building and alter egos just like how YE was doing back in the days with his albums. I understand yalls takes tho bc yall ain’t big fans like myself. Definitely think yall should react to this new album Monday tho, it’ll be good and yall gonna get the bigger picture on what he’s showing.

Daquan Moore

Yeah I think this went over y’alls heads crazy. The song is clearly about paranoia. Tyler is super rich, he lives in LA. He’s very famous. That’s why you seen Ayo in the video coming up towards him crazy with a phone all in his face. Y’all really gotta tap into T and watch his interviews and stuff like that when he’s explaining albums and what he goes through when he’s outside and shit. Been a fan of his since 2010-11

Daquan Moore

okanamawama head ass

Mikes Legendary Beats

Imma learn Rod Wave whole album before y'all get to it.

Spoddy Production

Y'all waiting till Christmas to drop Rod Wave?

Spoddy Production

are y'all doing the rod wave album.?

Kelvin Kamau

Tyler is an artist, he's an artists artist. He's nerdy, cool, emotional, stoic. He's not a stereotypical rapper whose message is clear and concise. When he has a message on a song he's going to give it on all layers, lyrically and production wise. So it might not resonate with everyone straight away. I thought this song the production the video the lyrics the concept was simple but executed beautifully to a super high level. And i can only understand so much, because I'm not a genius like that man is

ShoryuSengan

So yall are doin the Tyler album RIGHT?

Charles

Huge Tyler fan here: he plays a different character every album. Most of his videos are pretty random with an overall theme, this one seems to be paranoia of course. *TBH I didn’t think y’all would react to this never seen y’all do a Tyler project….would be great if yall could review one of his older albums

Mary Cannon

you gotta watch his interviews and stuff but if you listen to what he’s saying he is talking about his own experience as well as what other artist go through with weird fans i’m just still lost on the video with bumping corporate america so we’ll probably get that from the album

jaaden

React to a great chaos 💪🏾💯

BruceWayneLiukang314

Just shows that they’re not familiar with his music. I expected this from Terrell but not Terrance.

Joey Billiams

It definitely does feel like a trailer which I think is okay. But I do hope the album delivers a bit more

Phresh Alias

Nah that’s literally just the paranoia he raps about in the song with home invasions and people following him tryna figure out where he lives

Oni Legend

His fans can get over it we gone have our opinions 😂 good or bad

Michael Johnson

Interesting ass take. I’ve never thought about that…

Michael Johnson

This is one of those tracks that you gotta deep dive into the message on your own, probably a bit of google searching lol. I’m in the same boat as y’all I don’t really know what to make of this song and music video. Visually was it cool? yes! But nothing about this jumped out at me and gave me a solid “answer” on what this meant to me. But hey maybe that’s the point cause here we all are talking about it. Either way I’m still excited for his album.

Michael Johnson

I wish they listened to the full version of the song because it explains the entire subject a bit more.

Sol

Cherry bomb*

Marcus Walton

I love ya’ll but it felt like it went super over y’all heads. Nigga was talkin bout paranoia in many ways in his life nigga rich, black and got weird ass fans.

Adrian Wilson

Lmao I agree

Michael H

Notice when he looks in the mirror. There’s a man with a gun to his head, but not in real life. I’m assuming the character has some type schizophrenia or suffers from hallucinations.

Joey Billiams

forgive me if i am wrong, but do you guys look at tyler as white basically? thats how it felt. surely he could have gone through similar things to the average black man in america no? that point kinda confused me

YourMusicNerd

I saw a theory about the album being a reference to the book the phantom tollbooth where the character “chroma” brought color to the world during a troubling wartime.

Christian Cook

🙂‍↕️🙏🏾

GRaY theKid

AOT?

Flxxx

The song is about being paranoid about fans and just not trusting everyone’s intentions, he’s talked about it a lot in interviews and old albums about fans being overly obsessed and weird when he’s trying to relax or eat when out in public.

Wonovone

A quick google would show he’s had a girlfriend for a couple years now

Wonovone

I miss the days of Flower Boy. His best album.

Ham

The chorus/african(?) singing is so fire mane it’s wasted here. I preferred the other teaser a lot more, but I’m not Tyler fan so might not be for me

Leo

Where’s the yeat review?

Tavonte Douglas

Fantastic breakdown. Hope they see this

Scotty

They didn’t have their rap hats on either lmao. They took 1 line about being trapped by a woman and ran with it and almost made it sound like he’s not a part of rap culture and is cosplaying. Horrible take imo

Scotty

Dont listen to this bullshit PLEASE do a reaction for it

Cameron Zouvi

it’s not too hard of a concept to understand. the song is called ‘noid’ short for the obvious. also recommend listening to the full song and not just the video. but man it’s so tough to watch yall break down anything that isn’t conventional. to champion black creativity so much but every time a person yall would consider “alt” black (ie. donald glover, tyler, jordan peele, etc) does something ‘out of the box’ yall are quick to dissect why u think it’s weird rather than trying to see where they’re coming from. y’all ain’t gotta love it but i just feel like yall give people like young thug and future and carti so much more of an open ear than some of their non conventional counterparts

Dev Ciné

I’d say weird. The art cover for cherry blossom with a white guy holding a cigarette and peeing his pants, how is that any of what you just said.

Jay

Nigga said okanomwama😂😂😂😂

Kendall Wallace

I’d say more so creative, abstract & cinematic than “weird”

Justin DeGruy

With everything tyler do it’s like he asks himself “how can I make this weird asf”…..

Jay

If you reverse the colors of the album art it becomes the exact colors of "IGOR". Also why was the video audio weird?

Loic Reviews

Yeah I agree, and I also see your point how this might not entirely be his own perspective either. One could make the case though that being in the public eye, has made him deemed one of those “eccentric artist” types, and this may be satirizing that idea.

Black Tales

To expand upon it I also think that paranoia has led to him making rash thoughts, because that’s what being paranoid makes u do. Notice the mirror scene it’s mostly internalized thoughts of someone out to get him, notice in his reflection he’s being robbed but the stuff he gives the “robber” falls to the ground, because similar to paranoia it’s often times not real. or the baby trap thing Tyler’s not the type to care about something like that but because he’s “mainstream” things are “different” These are irrational thoughts that I believe he’s satirizing or mocking. These main stream industry ppl are always worried about these things I don’t think it’s really his perspective entirely but more of the ppl on the industry.

bluekingp

Man there’s so much y’all didn’t catch. And you both said you’d watch the video again before ever listening to the song on its own, so I would love to see what y’all think after a second watch and close attention to the details cause it’s really full of little things that wrap it all together

Terik

i think yall forget tyler is bi

Lo

What’s the context?

Dontae Roye

Honestly I would recommend that y’all just stay away from reviewing Tyler stuff. I don’t think his style is for you, and honestly Im not as much of a fan now a days as i used to be. His new stuff just doesn’t hit for me. His fans are extremely sensitive and get in their feelings when you don’t love everything he does. As you can see in the comments. Might as well just avoid the whole thing and let them enjoy the weirdness

Diallo Thompson

bro he literally had a black shordie in the call me if you get lost videos i get where yall comin from doe

Shalbrenta

Y’all gotta listen to the full lead single that he put out, it makes it feel more complete and give context

Aiden Kim

I loved this and I think checking out sorry not sorry would broaden yalls spectrum so yall can see how far tyler has come musically and as a artist and person

Jacqueline McClaren

These are my thoughts: first, NOID is short for paranoid, a theme that runs through the whole video. Now that Tyler has become more mainstream and appreciated as an artist, he now has to deal with a wave of new of rabbis fans that do not respect his personal boundaries. Tyler’s talked in interviews for years about weirdo fans approaching him in public and not taking no for an answer. In the video the mask is to hide his face in public, , like the phantom of the opera, and it’s gotten to the point he’s afraid to leave his own house, and even then fears people will burglarize his home, or a woman will come and trap him with a baby to insert herself into his life. “Someone’s keeping watch; I feel them on my shoulder” in the song also points to the idea he is constantly watching his back out of paranoia one of his fans will go too far

Black Tales

This gonna be his Yeezus

tyler dillon

ALSO! Tyler definately has a BLACK GIRLFRIEND named Reign Judge. C'mon y'all..

CLUBFM

yea.. they definitely didn't have there film degree hats on lol

CLUBFM

PLZZZZ listen to the full version when the album comes out! the actual song is 2 minutes longer than the music video version.

CLUBFM

I wish y’all listened to the full song man it’s so much better and a few minutes longer

Ayden Graham

Love y’all, but man y’all sleep on Tyler

Genesis Dacayanan

Lmfaoooo

Abraham Figueroa

I’ve always respected Tyler for how he takes you on a journey with his music videos but goddamn his music is really tough for me to listen to.

Christian Coleman

Super fan ass nigga cant js hear a mf opinion and not get mad😂😂

ACEDaDon

Julien F

Julien F

The song is not supposed to be a stand alone🤦🏽‍♂️

Jeremiah Coleman

Lawrence

The song is ass😂😂😂

ACEDaDon

Okinawa??? 😂😂

Omar Farouk

berto

Him and Childish Gambino are the two artist that leave you blank staring at the screen even after the screen goes black. You don’t know what to think. LOL

Raymond Wright

Ppreciate you big dawg 🙏🏾

GRaY theKid

damn facts! Almost forgot bro thank you for saying that 😭

GRaY theKid

!!! Also listen to the full version on streaming service!!

Kobi Godfrey

I feel like they completely missed the point of the video lol

Scotty

Also! FUN FACT: another easter egg for the song lies within the song’s sample The song samples "Nizakupanga Ngzo" by Zambian band Ngozi Family from their 1977 album 45,000 Volts. The vocal sample features lead singer Paul Ngozi singing in his native Nyanja language, ands when translated he’s basically talking about being respectful when visiting his home. Directly ties into Tyler‘s perceived hostility that people have towards him, aka, being Paranoid. fire ass sample btw. Willow Smith on the adddition vocals as well. Alright that’s it for real! Peace and love y’all 🤞🏾

GRaY theKid

I think yall should’ve watched the first album preview before Noid would’ve made the experience make more sense!

JaKar

Amazing breakdown and insight fam!

JaKar

Okay so here’s the breakdown: For the concept of this album Tyler is portraying the character Chroma the Great from The Phantom Tollbooth, a conductor whose orchestra creates the colors of the world. He hints at this with the bulk of the video being monochromatic, with the color coming in at the end of the video NOID is short for Paranoid, which serves as the overall theme of the video. Ayo’s character portrays the obsessed fan, who’s phone switches to a gun. Finally, most of his paranoia throughout the video is only in his head. You can see this in multiple scenes in the video: 1.Despite Tyler looking at the rearview mirror of his car and seeing someone tailing him, wide shots and different angles of him driving show that nobody was on the road with him. 2. Looking to the mirror and seeing somebody rob him in his reflection 4. Running on foot as if someone was chasing him, but there was nobody. 3. In the final scene with color, as Tyler hysterically paces back-and-forth on the street in Slo-mo, his shadow takes on a different figure then what his body is doing. That was long ASF but thats basically all of it Bros, hope this helps you look at the video in a dif light now that you know the concepts and details! S/o to Tyler for being one of the last in a dying species of artist who apply concept to their art. Love y’all!

GRaY theKid

I wish they explored the concept of him being paranoid with the lifestyle of being famous. It’s clearly about him, a fans phone is a “Gun” to him he is paranoid.

SLIMETIME RICH

The song represents the invasion of privacy of the celebrity life and how he always feels like eyes on him no matter what he does or wherever he goes. The Zambian parts translates to “When you come to my house, come with respect. Because I don’t want for talking talking, for talking talking brings for the mouth”. ~ roughly. If you see the end of the video, his shadow isn’t replicating his movements, I guess showing the closest things to him can’t completely be trusted either. Also the 1st snippet & video we got last week was him leading an army of people to a crate that exploded, maybe speaking on fan culture too(which he shows in this music video)

ukayj

based on his recent interviews and the lyrics in the song, I think this album is gonna be about Tyler and his current relationship with fame and who he's become, celebrity culture, worshipping these people and just how fandom and status have turned weird. He's kind of alluded to it in CMIYGL specifically on Wilshire where he talks about the girl and how he likes to be super private and then people found out who the girl was, and he talks about like people running up to him in his face with a camera and they don't want to have a conversation which to most people coming from how exposed Tyler was and how much he shared, to turn private as he is is interesting.

Goodhippy

I think the video/song is straightforward it’s just weird lol. Usually his singles pre-release are just to set the vibe of the album. He’s just talking about how he feels and feeling paranoid in every situation

Geo

So the song on streaming is longer then the video and the song is about him dealing with paranoia of fame within his career with fan interactions and how it’s made him become overally paranoid and wether or not this is a good thing or a bad thing

Matthew Balbuena

whole vid about how Tyler feeling paranoia. With Ayo wanting an autograph but it flashing to a gun and him looking in his rearview/running from people that ain’t there. Seems like the concept stems from the paranoia of fame think he had a few lines in the song about it too 🤝

Bray

Terrance puts Runaway on everything 😂

Evan Brown

Tyler has a black girlfriend in Reign Judge, I’m confused as to what y’all were rapping bout at the end…he also said he wants a family on one of his songs in the estate sale. He also always champions black art and black people, so I’m not understanding where you guys are really coming from honestly.

vaygatti

Full song is so much better as a musical expression, this is definitely like a “trailer” to the album world like you guys said

Michael

we need PND4 ya 😕

egan z

Damnn dope to see yall cover this, can’t wait for the album

Tyson Poshtar

they did Igor
