PHOENIXES v12 peek #2

It’s been a super busy month for us. We're working hard on v12 and are eager to bring the update to you all as soon as possible.

With each update, we gain a deeper understanding of the game's shortcomings in various areas, and we will never stop improving them. As I mentioned in the v12 initial report, we're aiming to optimize the event loading speed on Android in this update. At the same time, we're also exploring the possibility of completely remaking the game using the Godot 4 engine (currently we use Godot 3.) Theoretically, this should significantly improve the game's performance and solve a lot of existing issues. It’s going to be a next-level tough task, but I think we'll start working on it very soon—maybe not in this update cycle though.

Besides system optimization, we’re also trying to further improve UI in v12. The appearance of the new event bubble will be updated, and different types of new events will have different types of bubbles.

Meanwhile, we’re also planning to change the background image of the city map. The current one doesn’t look polished and has many poor details. Now there are some new and better tools for non-professionals like us to create city maps, and we’re learning how to use them. I think we'll have a new map background in v12, though we haven't settled on its style yet.

As for the story part, well, I’m still carefully crafting Cassy’s story. This is perhaps my biggest challenge in story writing since starting PHOENIXES. I mean, right now this emotionless blonde AI girl doesn’t have the function of ‘loving someone,’ and she needs to undergo some significant changes before she can actually fall in love with you. I can't just write something like ‘Cassy’s system got updated, now she has emotions and can love, so it’s time for a sex party’—that would be too hollow, right? She needs some deeper, more serious changes to gain the ability to love, to enrich her character, and to make the bond between her and you truly special. I’m not a good writer, but I hope that I can eventually bring a good piece for her and those who love her.
