Now it's time to turn our attention to v12.
After the release of v11, I received some complaints from people who didn't want to start a new run again. Honestly, as the creator, I'm sad to realize that many players seemed to hate our v11 plans, but at the same time, I understand their frustrations, especially those of Android players.
From the first version of PHOENIXES until now, we have made significant optimizations for the Android version. We've reduced loading times by 80% when opening the game, and it no longer crashes on low-end devices when loading animated scenes. But clearly, not enough. There's still a huge issue with the Android version: every time people trigger an event, they will experience half a second to a second (or even longer) of loading time. This noticeable delay is terrible. Players need to go through hundreds of events (including bubble events and location actions) to reach the current end of the game's story, and each event reminds them of how unsmooth their gaming experience is.
This needs to change. In v12, thoroughly optimizing the Android version will be our top priority. We don’t know what the final results will be, but we will do our best.
As for the PC version, we resolved the issue with abnormal CPU usage in v11, which I thought would reduce game crashes. However, I’ve received feedback that the PC version of v11 seems to crash more frequently than before. We’re not sure why, as none of the players who reported crashes have sent me their log files. But clearly, the PC version also needs some great optimization.
Since we can’t predict how long it will take to optimize both versions, we can only promise to optimize the Android version in v12. The thorough optimization for the PC version might have to wait until v13. But if you’ve experienced any crashes while playing the PC version of v11, please dm me here or on Discord and provide your entire logs folder. This will greatly help us locate the issue. Here’s the location of your logs folder; just enter this into the Windows search box to navigate to the folder:
%APPDATA%/Godot/app_userdata/Phoenixes/logs
Oh, and of course, you will be able to use your v11 saves in v12.
Also, we will continue to streamline the game's pacing. In v12, you'll be able to raise girls' love levels more easily and quickly.
As for the story part, In the first 10 updates of PHOENIXES, two girls have already established romantic relationships with you (Heather, Sorring,) and two other girls, although not officially in a relationship with you yet, have been able to continuously produce erotic scenes (Alnilam, Osonia.) I believe the first phase of the main story has been successfully completed. We will begin the second phase starting with v12.
In v12, I hope we can make Osonia formally join your harem. At the same time, we will focus on Cassy too. I have some ambitious ideas for her story and hope I can bring them to life.
