I had a request for my VLOGs to show a few more progress videos!
I also plan on trying to do a recording when I work on the next pencil sequence this month (which will be the Build-A-sequence) - but for now - here's what I've been working on today!
A peek into my system/method for my general inked-then-colored work:
- This is just the Procreate part of my process (the final stage before I add in dialog)
- Before this, I sketch and ink traditionally and then scan in the pages
- Then I use photoshop to block out the color areas and lay down the flat colors
- I also usually use photoshop to shade skin and eyes - as it has tools I prefer to use
- Then I export the files to Procreate where I finish the coloring - I can work more precisely with the fur especially. I have a layer set to multiply above the fur that I erase out a pattern with a crisp brush with high pressure sensitivity - then I make another multiply layer above that that clips with the layer I jut worked on and an overlay layer that is the inverse of that that I do highlights with
- After that, I do some detailwork on a layer above the lineart to add some more depth and highlights - and other details like extra shines, etc.
