Casually remind them that levi grew up in the underground where presumably he had to fight for everything that shapes emotions and attitude as well. Then his found family was brutally slaughtered. It makes sense that he is the way he is

Same for when those soldiers went back to retrieve their friend dead body. Levi wasn't mad at them because he understands how cruel the world can be.
