Having the worst experience right now using Art-n-Fly watercolors for the actual illustration. Seriously guys if you're really interested in watercolors please spend a few more bucks on at least students grade paints, it's a whole new world. I fully understand now the struggles of people who start and hate watercolors immediately *sigh*

Hi! No, I never tried those but I plan to do it in future, since I just like to try new stuff :D I'm a big fan of Daniel Smith, they definitely worth it!

Have you ever tried Gansai Tambi paints? Those were the first ones I used and I really enjoyed them. I now have a mix of Winsor & Newton Cotman, Professionals and, as a special birthday treat, a few Daniel Smith ones, which are amazingly pretty.

yeah, even though people tend to tell that tools don't matter if you have a "talent" (I hate this word) but it does!

I totally understand that feeling of hating using bad watercolor... I used to hate watercolor because of the bad quality of the watercolor I used(they were totally unsaturated, the colors were really pale -.-'). I was seeing all these artist create beautiful piece with watercolor and it was frustrating me that I wasn't able to do the same with mine. Then, two months ago I received great watercolor and now it's my favorite media!^^

yeah I use mine for years and some tubes are more than a half left! despite the fact that I draw almost every day! the fun thing that even though the artnfly watercolors are freaking cheap they still filled half of a tube with air!! I'm so angry ohhh

Watercolor paints can be expensive but they can last forever if you paint small. I am just drawing for fun after five month I barely made a dent of my watercolor paints. I heard form someone else that she hated watercolor until she decided to buy good quality paints one day and then watercolor became her favorite media. I think I am pretty lucky that I brought paints when I went back to China and it happens Holbein watercolor is actually quite affordable. So I just brought 24 color sets think the price point is ok. I did not know holbein is an artist grade brand and somewhat expensive in the United States until much later. XD
