I think most people didn’t like Near because of how many conclusions he seemed to jump to in the anime. It was as if he was just handed information that L would have had to work for. Near learning about Teru Mikami by picking him out of one of twenty monitors simultaneously playing was the main thing I was referring to, but if I believe there was a lot of content cut from the source leading up to this point that made the deduction reasonable.

2024-11-05 19:48:16 +0000 UTCThat may be, but I honeslty id not really notice. And L did have deductions with gaps as well. Perhaps I am biased as near is my favourite character after finishing (together with Soichi and Aizawa) =)

2024-11-05 19:43:12 +0000 UTCBetween L’s death and the end of the anime there is A LOT cut from the manga. I don’t remember if Near deducing L is Kira is one of those things, but there is a problem with Near arriving at conclusions that seem rushed and this is why.
