"Things have been going smoothly for Light because he's a very lucky man" Hahahaha. The sass. Ugh. The sub strikes again. Regarding the lifespan that the Shinigami, as well as those with Shinigami eyes can see... Hmm. Actually I wrote a paragraph regarding this just now, but I couldn't work out how to explain it without spoilers, and I also just might've discovered a serious plot hole here. I'll explain when you're done watching the show. This manages to be simultaneously my favourite and least favourite episode in the series. Mm. From memory you might've also missed a very short post title card scene at the end of this episode. I think it's rehashed in the next episode anyway, but I can't be certain. Also, if you can find it, now might be a good time to watch a deleted scene where Light attends L's grave. It's pretty fucked.

2024-11-06 06:25:57 +0000 UTC1- on why light didnt kill L himself is The reason Light didn’t kill L himself is simple: he would’ve had to use the Death Note clipping right there, but he didn’t have L’s name (since Misa hadn’t seen him yet). Even if he did know L’s name and wrote it down, he still didn’t know Watari’s name, so it’d be useless too many loose ends. Plus, if L just drops dead with no one else around to pin it on, Light’s the immediate suspect. Blaming Rem was the best move: it made the timing work in his favor, kept him out of suspicion, and got rid of both L and Watari. 2- why did rem kill L: Shinigami don’t need to see a shorter lifespan to know they’re interfering. Rem knew that L was relentlessly pursuing Misa and that his investigation posed a life-ending risk if Misa’s identity as Kira were confirmed. By taking out L and Watari, Rem effectively removed the threat that might have led to Misa’s execution. Rem’s death after killing L and Watari serves as narrative evidence that her interference was seen as extending Misa’s life. The rule doesn’t require 100% certainty of death, just that the Shinigami acts with protective intent that potentially affects the human’s lifespan. L’s pursuit was arguably reaching a point where, if Misa were confirmed as Kira or the second Kira, her life would likely be at risk (possibly through execution if convicted). Rem interpreted L’s actions as a direct threat to Misa, sufficient for her to interfere. The rule, in this sense, responds to Rem’s belief in Misa’s risk and her decision to act on it. pretty sure that even the possibility of extending a loved human’s life can be enough to trigger the rule based on the wording of the rule. Rem’s death is more about the potential impact her intervention had on Misa’s fate rather than a guaranteed outcome. So, while it’s not confirmed that Misa would have died, Rem’s death is i think the author's way of pointing out that her actions changed Misa’s fate significantly enough to activate the rule, suggesting that L’s survival actually would have posed a credible enough threat to Misa’s life. 3- lights luck (i still see it as a chess game but more of a fog of war chess game mode (which is when you dont see your opponents pieces until they are in range of your attack)) it’s true that Light had some insane luck, especially with Raye Penber’s wife, Naomi that was pretty much pure luck but he did have to use his emotional skill to stop her. But while luck is real, it’s not just about luck; it’s how you use it. Naomi’s the one moment that really stands out as super low-probability, “out-there” luck for Light. Most of his other “lucky” moments can be compared to L’s in his investigation. It’s just that Light’s luck seems more obvious because it involves the supernatural and emotions, stuff that’s harder to tie directly to intelligence. Light played his cards as best he could, like getting a +4 card in Uno—yeah, it’s lucky to get it, but you still have to use it right (unlike Higuchi's dumbass). L’s luck was more about his hunches and big gambles paying off, like the broadcast. He’s rich, with insane resources, and had genius connections to top it, so off the bat he's lucky, also off the bat his bets landed hard imagine if the Kanto broadcast had been last instead of first. Light might’ve figured it out from internet chatter and not bitten the bait, but in that exact moment, Light went mad with power, making L’s move pay off massively, narrowing the suspect list from the world to one city, then to one guy. Light’s luck is just way more visible because it’s tied to big supernatural and emotional moves, while L’s luck feels like it’s all connected to his smarts. But they both got lucky in ways that fit the kind of different fight or realm they were in respectively. (ps. mb for ramble)

2024-10-26 07:57:09 +0000 UTCListen back to my point now at Ls death. It shouldnt have been misa. If you pay attention and i mean very closely. Light manipulates everyone, L by letting him join the task force, misa (do i need to spell it out she was easy), raye and his id, naomi and her name, his dad for making hhim believe in him, his mother, the entire task force, ryuk wwith the cameras and burying the book, the only character hhe hasnt manipulated was rem, she swore to kill him but light showed her there are "worse people" than him with the yotsuba group. Rem sees Ls death as misas happy long life with light which we established if misa is happy Rem is happy. Rem killing L in a panic to save misa is perfect. It completes rems arc and kills her as well because she is done being useful. Misa killing L is a disgusting idea. Its needs to take a god to kill him. Its the only way to do his character justice his life in exchange for a god of death is only fair. If misa killed him that wouldve totally sucked the worst.

2024-10-25 00:53:43 +0000 UTCPlease dont forget that if a shinigami dies for you its life span becomes your own. Life can change 3 ways. One is deathnote killing, two is eye deal, three is if a shinjgami dies for you

2024-10-25 00:50:25 +0000 UTCMisa would get the death penalty but dont forget misa got the life of the shinigami that died for her then she havled it and halved it again now L is closing in. She can increase misas life span by dying for her as well
